I have the same problem on my PC, when ever i play 3D games, those green dots start appearing, Those dots keep coming untill my computer crashes. when i restart the comp, those dots are gone. So i have to restart my comp like 3 times before playing :-/

This pixel problem is ocurring in many wii's. I have had the problem happen twice with my wii so that means I am on my third wii console. I have had this wii for almost a year now so hopefully the problem is fixed.

It seems the problem is due to some graphics cards heatsinks failing due to improper construction of them. So basically when you use wiiconnect24, you are destroying the wii's heatsink which then causes the graphics card to overheat, creating all of these pixels and lines...

mine does the same thing except black horizantal lines and its a 2007 wii it has well ventilation to any one have this problem

Don't leave the Wii in standby mode after turning it off. Unplug the power. If you leave it in standby with the yellow light indicator on, it get REALLY hot. I don't find it unimaginable that this is what causes the GPU to overheat. On or off only, no standby, and this shouldn't happen.

One day, my dear cousin tripped on a GC controller's wire, and my Wii fell on its side. Ever since that incident the console makes a lot of noise, especially while reading the disc. After that, I started noticing this glitch with RE4. Does anyone know if it's related? Sometimes I feel like my Wii is dying, like one day it will suddendly stop working. Seriously, it makes some awful noise, it's painful to hear.

I have the component cables and a Vizio HDTV 32'' and I have the same problem, but less noticeable, only a few green dots on screen I see, mostly on the sky and background, not on Leon's back. Pitty, the game has the best graphics.

that red and green dot error that appears in RE4 is purely based on the component cables your using.

No, but really... After having nintendo swap out my Wii I no longer had the problems...same component cables and all.

I am NOT a Wii hater, I just know that when it was swapped the problem went away (with the same cables/tv)

I have had mine running on WiiConnect 24 for over a week at a time sometimes, in a closed cabinet and never had any problems. This isn't a "Nintendo screwed up" problem, it's you got a defective console, and Wii has the lowest defect rate, or you are doing something wrong yourself.

If you are seeing problems like this, it is NOT the game.

Your Wii has a failing graphics processor. Go to the Nintendo site and schedule a repair. It takes 10 minutes and you get a free repair. Seriously, do not waste time. USE your warranty.

I didn't notice this problem until I bought Bleach Shattered Blade and Mario Galaxy. It's in almost every screen from Shatered Blade and only a few in Mario.

I returned Bleach twice to see if it was the game and still had the problem. Based on the Youtube responses to similar problems, I am going to send my system in to be replaced.

Ultimately I think the problem came from that Wiiconnect24.

I get this problem with Zelda too. Little square "pixels" of light. In the Hyrule Forest I thought it was just bad graphical choices on the game designers part. No. It is the Wii. It is not a graphical issue on my friends Zelda. If you arent seeing probs than your Wii is not having the prob. Rejoice!

I wouldn't worry about it happening again as you get a fresh warranty with the new unit.

Also, I have a wii fan stand that keeps the wii cool. I doubt it is because of an overheated system.. My wii is barely warm but is having this problem. Also, my wii is a launch wii... :(

You know, I resisted the temptation of giving into the internet mob mentality and thought the glitches had to be the result of something else. (cabling, software bug, etc) because nintendo has a history of rock solid consoles...but...

sending it into nintendo did indeed fix the problem. I was impressed that all of my game saves were transfered to the new motherboard and it was returned pretty quickly. It's free and you get what amounts to a new system. Go for it! Just get yourself a M3 Simply for your DS first! ;)

I did the same thing, backing all to SD card, good to be safe but I actually got the same unit back,had all my save games, Mii's and everything.

Yep, the GPU has been fried, probably due to WiiConnect 24 being on while you didn't play the system for a few weeks (in between Zelda and Re4?).

I had the same thing and had to get it repaired by Nintendo. It took 3 weeks to get it repaired and sent back to me, but it's all good now and I'm playing RE4 without the ugly graphic glitches.

For those who care, I'm running 480P (16:9) on a Dell 2405FPW.

This also happens on five other CRTs I've tried (480i, 4:3).

It is NOT a problem with the display or cables like I originally thought...
