  • me encantan sus movimientos. Conoce bien su arte. José

  • thats beautiful!!! it looks like you combine several styles here and you do it beautifully!!!!!

  • shea dances much better than any middleeast woman !!!!

    UR gr8!

  • I love your dance techniques...! Five Stars!

  • 5 stars

  • omg!! yur dacing very beatiful!!!

  • Very good!

    Thank you for the post!

  • damn lady :O im a belly dancer (not pro sadley) and i cant even copy a single thing you do xD

  • wow..

  • Nice dance, especially for instructional purposes. I appreciate the way she matched the moves to the music and didn't over-dance; you can really *see* the structure of the song. Her energy felt too low for the music (although she WAS unquestionably graceful) and I wish it weren't labeled "beledi" because what she's doing is more modern.

  • she's doing a demonstration for teaching purposes. Her dance is more for instruction than performance!

  • Belly dance is feelings more than "breakdance"... She is very good with steps and has no feelings...sensation.. This is the diffirence between the arab dancers and the westerns

  • you should tribal

  • @hadasa81 this is exactly what i iwas thinking.i bet she does tribal...or has done it

  • reading the comments it seems that her belly dance may be a unnatural ? as i've read the movement should all be "fluid" but I do enjoy the control she has over her body. I'd like to see if I could take BD lessons in my area.

  • I personally prefer less technique and more grace. Something lively.

  • eu nunc, a ! ci alguem dançar,á sim como vc tão lindo.

  • hmm, this beldi style is something i havnt really seen among belly dancers before. its very interesting

  • Perfect body cotrol - congratulations, but oriental dance should be NATURAL , RELAXING...keep dancing and just enjoy music, yourself and life...Arabic teachers can help you, that is what helped me the most - to understand music, culture and CHARACTER OF THE ORIENTAL DANCE. GREETS from Poland :)

  • i totally agree--all dance should be natural and fluid

  • Great poise and technique.

  • Off be, kıvır bacım kıvır!

    Haydeeee yallah!

  • Excellent belly dancing. You are very skilled and do beautiful undulations. I enjoyed watching:)

  • i feel like the movement is contricted... not entertaining to watch =/

  • sorry guys but this is not a beledi dance!beledi should be about feeling th music, which she doesn't. she has a good technique but that's all!

  • she is the best and she is my dance teacher thats is how that dance goes so please think before u type rude things jessica -- t

  • She has a creat tehnique ... what she could use though is some energy ... she needs to be more alive ... other than that she's amazing ... and for those of you who say she's old ... c'mon... she doesn't look more than 30 ... 35 max ... and if you call a 35 year old woman old ... how do you call one that has 80??

  • She has a great tecnhiek and a great muscular control but I saw now travelling steps apparts from turns and circles. There are no feelings just locks. The chorepo could be lighter...

  • and her body !!

she is older women her body soo *** >> sorry that the true

  • wtf that too baaad i know middle east danceing that was too baaad !

  • But i understand that this is a demonstration, perhaps you want to make the movements very sharp and precise to help others learn the dance!

  • You'r good, but baladi is also called "Egyptian Blues" and is supposed to be soulfull, keep that in mind!

  • really one of the best performance i have seen. and i live in the middle east

  • DAMNN SONN! i LOVEd iTT!

yOU SEEN THOSE ABSS SON! WOW

  • You are really good on technique . Please put some feelings because it`s kind of boring. Give every thing you have inside, then you will be perfect

  • it was good but it looked like she learned it in steps belly dance is suppose to go smoothly not step by step i felt like she was not feeling the music just doing some belly dancing dance moves but shes still good !!

  • Karen Barbee is a bellyborg! She utilizes all pieces of the music. Love it, you're awesome, Karen!!

  • she can dance i like the part from 00:46-00:50

  • nicee

  • dude im arab and i didnt know white women can do that .damn. i stand corrected!

  • you r a really bellydancer

  • EXCELENTE!!!!!

  • She is very good!!! technique of movements is awsome:)

  • Now this is the shit,

    :)

  • hmmm i like everything except the hands kindof harsh.

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!

  • wat music is tat

  • Achei muito boas as ondulacões,nada mal!

  • WOW bomde!!!! perfekt!

  • skilled and hypnotizing

  • Her isolations rock! I don't think she's usualy dancing like that, because(I agree)real raqs sharki looks softer. But I like it. It's agressive and new.

  • She has been doing this kind of dancing since the 80's!

    (way before tribal fusion)

    It is awesome!

  • ok, this is like a robot dancing.give it some feeling.

  • she's very technical and precise but not doing beledi! check lucy of dc's christmas beledi - THAT's beledi.

  • I think you mean Yasmin of DC's Christmas Beledi or one of Lucy of DC's lovely Beledi's, but not Lucy's Christmas Baladi.

  • Yasmin's i meant indeed - thanks!

  • sorry but this isn't beledi ! far too mechanical with no emotion and when she started directing the traffic at 1:00 I'd seen enough !!

  • not natural. clinical. real thing is much better

  • I agree. She has technique, but she doesn't properly dance, neither beledy nor raqs sharqi. Elle a une manque d'esprit.

  • nice. slow belly dancing is cooler and hypnotizing. I know this girl would rock in slow BD

  • Wow!! Great job.

  • Wow! Great dancing!

  • very nice belly-moves =)

    wwowooooooooow !!!!

  • Awesome moves!

  • que bonito baylass

  • welldone

  • good technique, but: real beledi does not contain belly roll!!! and even her hands are to hard (should be more intimate with body, not so far away), she should be more soft and have soft moves. this is more raqs sharqi!

    costume is not right.

  • white woman can belly dance, is that cool or what?

  • she is really good ! my sis is at the same level as her!i think she was going at the same school of belly dancing

  • dear god!!she dance very very well!!!!i love dancing belly dance too but there is some mouvement that i can't make, and i'm so so sand about that!!i really want to meet somebody who learn me belly dance, because i really really love that dance it's beautiful sensual...

  • It says "demonstration" right in the title of this video. As for the dancer, she is in great shape and does not look old - she even has a six pack for crying out loud. I appreciated the video in it's simplicity as a demo because it was easy for a beginner like me to 'see' the movements clearly. Thank you.

  • whoa...

  • I agree with all of the previous comments. She is indeed very talented and amanzinly good, but i miss emotion and connection to the music, especially because it's beledy. Maybe she was just demonstrating the movements and isolations. I'll certainly look for other performances of hers to find out wether she is allways so "technically perfect" or was just because she was demonstrating the moves :-)

  • Agree also. Still, have to admire her mastery of technique even if musicality, lyricism and interpretation are still unclear at the moment due to lack of more videos.

  • She is technically excellent but I don't see her connecting with the music.

  • too robotic in parts, which Especially beledi is not. I thought it mostly looked cool in her drum solo, but now she is dancing the same. I think Lucy with Beledi, Happy, cute and flirty.

  • True, Karen dances very well technicially, but there is not Egyptian emotion/free feeling improv here which is at the core of Egyptian dancing. Very stiff when it should be free.

  • Fabulous! Well done!

  • this was a very "literal" performance, but very nice.

  • I think she was demonstrating the isolations and layering involved in BD. I have seen many of her performances and she expresses alot of emotion and personality when she performs.

  • BD Drummer...lol. Whaddya know...a holiday miracle!

  • She's obviously very gifted and I thoroughly applaud her stellar technique...but there is such a thing as showing too much restraint and this example proves it. Technique is only good if used in conjunction with emotion...this kind of static presentation is great for drum solos...but it isn't authentic to the beledi style. I'm looking forward to watching more of this master's videos!

  • OMG!!! We actually agree on something Pro!!Maybe there's hope for us to be friends yet :)

  • WOW! Karen puts these kids to shame with her mastery of the dance!
