The people that produce DVD collections just don't get it. It would be great to watch an intact-with-sponsor episode of bewitched. The 5 disc second season of THE BEVERLY HILLBILLIES starts out great...the first 2 discs include a 60 second in character spot at the end of each episode, then, they trail off for some reason. One season of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW has sponsor spots as an extra. Why not let us enjoy the shows as they aired?
we youtubers agree DG....Sony probably doesnt want to give out free advertising space on its DVDs ,i guess (even if it is retro, some of the sponsors STILL exist)
This is a second season title (1965-'66), with the "alternate sponsor", Quaker Oats, prominently identified {by Gary Owens- yes, it's him; he was also the announcer for Quaker on "F TROOP" as well}. This is why there were so many "breakfast scenes" within the episodes; the better to get viewers "comfortable" with the sponsor's oatmeal, cereals, and "Aunt Jemima" pancake mixes Samantha might occasionally serve to Darrin, but NEVER identified by name...
Season 2 version of the opening theme is definitely the best!

Completely agree. A lot of companies do this. Shame the distributors can't leave well alone.
"Network DVD" in the UK are the only ones I know who try and leave the programmes as intact as possible.

This is so awesome. I sure with the DVDs would have been released with the original sponsor tags and commercials.

This is the very rare 2nd seaon opening, never seen in syndication.

That theme opening is the one that I am used to hearing towards the end of the show. Cool! So it actually was an opening theme as well. Love it!

Too bad Sony didn't see fit to include these openings as extras on the DVDs.
