GIANT is a great movie - no doubt.
But when you know the background of the actors, it does add a titillation factor:
- Rock HUDSON does a great job acting 'straight'
- Liz does a great job making the romance look real
- James DEAN was always a troubled lad and had his own sexual orientation issues
- and Dennis HOPPER is just fun, but also kind of creepy.
But that does not take away from the talents involved, by any means. It's a damn good story, and DALLAS etc owe it a debt.
