Wow people. Really? Listen up, okay? I'll make this really simple. The "structure," "machine," whatever you want to call it, is NOT a "black hole generator!" It is a particle accelerator, known as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and was built beneath the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva, Switzerland. It collides particles at extremely high speeds in an attempt to discover the theoretical existence of new types of matter, as well as allowing scientists to learn more about the laws of physics!

It has the possibility of creating a "micro black hole," which is an entirely different scenario; rather than the doomsday event everyone thinks will occur, a "micro black hole" will evaporate instantly, most likely leaving nothing behind. @Airbornerock And just to clarify, you seem to think that because it CAN create a "micro black hole" (remember, not a normal black hole like in space) that you are proving me to be wrong, but you have failed to do so. To call it a black hole generator implies that the intention for the machine is to generate black holes, which it isn't. The intention for the LHC is exactly as I stated in my original post. For example: Just because someone is capable of murder, that does not make them a murderer.
