Whaling has been a tradition in almost every culture, so calling it "tradition" isn't really a logical reason to let it continue. The whaling stations in my state, for example, have been closed for almost 80 years, demolished or turned into oyster farms, and most are happy to see them go. Whaling is torture; you'd never see cows treated like this (not legally, anyway). Some cultures just need to grow up on this particular issue.
Perhaps people are worrying about the future generation who are never going to see some species of whales...or perhaps the inhumane and brutal way the whale is being killed......but yeah, i suppose you're right, they should "stop crying" and worry about their own lives.........?

January 15, 2008 - The Humane Society International today won a historic decision from the Australian Federal Court which the environmental group says could save hundreds of whales from Japanese harpoons. The court ruled tht a Japanese whaling company is in breach of Australian law when it kills whales in the Australian Whale Sanctuary and has ordered tht the hunt be stopped. japanese whalers have been taken to court and the ruling confirms that the hunt is illegal.

Whaling has been a tradition in almost every culture, so calling it "tradition" isn't really a logical reason to let it continue. The whaling stations in my state, for example, have been closed for almost 80 years, demolished or turned into oyster farms, and most are happy to see them go. Whaling is torture; you'd never see cows treated like this (not legally, anyway). Some cultures just need to grow up on this particular issue.

Anyone who thinks about this logically will realise that in comparison the amount of whales humans kill is nothing compared to the amount of plankton whales kill. One Whale will literally eat billions of plankton in it's lifetime all who have to go through the agony of being eaten alive. Until Whales change their diet to seaweed or possibly crops that have fallen of boats the slaughter of whales is totally justified.
