i appreciate each of the singers, but for me, there is no MoF without jim james.what is so great is the contrast of verses and songs. m.ward is really great as well. i love conor and all (and his songwriting is amazing) but he was the least influential for me when i saw live and in interviews and stuff. he said numerous times how humbled he was to be playing with these guys because JJ is the superior vocalist and m.ward the superior guitar player.

The only person in the band I really liked before was Jim James. Even then, the first couple of songs I heard I thought were just mediocre. However, there are some complete jewels on the album. Also, go see a live show. Wow...

I agree that you don't have to be a complete fanboy, but in this case you at least have to admit that the songs performed by MoF are full of talent and required skill musicians and lyricists to write them. That alone deserves credit even if you don't like it.

Absolutely love it, the lyrical prowess of Bright Eyes blended perfectly with the instrumental sounds of My Morning Jacket. The vocals are wonderful, the beat and bassline are fantastic and make the track funky and sleek, but also the use of the harp and of course the soul-searching lyrics keeps it a fundamentally beautiful song.
