This joint is hotter than the original. Jay Dee definitely had his revenge. it's a shame that music execs don't give a f*** about quality sounds cos this is the type of music I could listen to all day without getting bored of it... R.I.P J Dilla, one of the best (if not the best) producer i've ever listened to.
this is the song that made me go back and say "okay, who is this J. Yancey guy?" Kept seeing his name here and there. Saw it earlier on some Busta and brand new heavies stuff. It was a special time in music back then, and I still had no clue that the J. Yancey character would be the cat we would mourn and miss dearly later. Neo soul?? What's that?? lol I was clueless.
long live J Dilla! i'm working on a project consisting of all Dilla beats (released or un-released) & if anyone can get in touch with the Yancey Estate please inbox me. i want them to see how Dilla's work inspired me. i already uploaded a few on my channel anything with a picture of Dilla feel free to check it out & give your input i want to make sure i'm doing his work justice. peace & blessings!
This is that Shit that is sure to make your neck SORE!!!! This is truly Jay Dee's revenge!! I had the DISTINCT PLEASURE of taping this remix from the wax that J-Dilla owned....IN HIS BASEMENT STUDIO!!!!! I will NEVER forget that!! I MISS Jay!!!
peachees05 is right..uneducated fools.. his music started gettin popular and more people appreciated it after he died. if thats what he ment ha. rip dilla. fukin phat trak
@phattone07 If you're still looking for the instrumental and/or other remixes, check for used vinyl. A 12" came out with the instrumental, original and 3 or 4 remixes. To be honest there's more, my friend bought one and I bought another. We diidn't have all the remixes. Thanks for the bg info on this one. I didn't know Jam & Lewis had been mistakenly credited.

J Dilla's one of the very few (maybe none) who can take the original and make a new version that sounds even better. R.I.P to a genius.
