Most don't film themselves putting the slippers on. That just eats up time. But that's alright. It's kind of sweet. It's like you're just getting ready for class.
You do seem a little out-of-practice. Try some Yoga and Pilates. The right cross-training can be essential.
Focus that tendu a little more. I think maybe those shoes are a little too big. And wear stockings. Your shoes'll stay fresh a lot longer. Still... I look at you and do see a dancer.
Hello, i have to say you have amazing feet and i was hoping you could help me
i cant bend my feet properly in plié and jumping and when i jump, espessially in 5th position its wery hard to let my heels touch the floor, in order to let them touch the floor i have to bend forward very much and thats not pretty, do you have any advice for me?
SUPER GOOD video! The quality and timing is proffesional and the music was good of course! =) Thanks for it alot! Just messing around I am so mean to my ankles and this video will help me to remember I need to stop and slow down and do it right if I am going to try at all. lol Really great!
kay so I have really annoying nerves on my freaking feet. But my mom says I have the perfect feet for ballet.. and okay so what i mean about the badnerves is...cramps....or moving muscles. I kneeled for a few seconds while practicing cpr in class and i ended up sitting down the entire time holding onto my feet [[when muscles moved]]
Are there any good excersises to make them like..idk.. STOP that D:
geesh this is a site where ppl can post whatever video they want. it's not a forum. comments are for opinions. take criticism, take compliments. >.> it doesn't matter what profession you say you are in, over the internet, u could be a 9 year old loser. just express ur opinion and leave.
i've got some comment,, when you're doing pliè's you have to make sure your knees are falling over your feet. i don't know if you understand me, my english is not very well. maybe you can turn your knees more out or your feet heve to turned more in.
to be a professional dancer, definatly, but just to take classes as a hobby, i dont think its necassary, whats more important is strength and being able to do the exercises, and then they will help with suppleness and flexibilty:) but stretching a little everyday will help if you want to be more flexible:) i've always struggled with flexibility, but stretchingregularly helps :) thankyou for the comment :)
i would say its prbably better to get taught by a qualified teacher, beacause then any little mistakes you make can be corrected, where as trying to do it yourself, you may miss things that you are doing incorrectly. However, I would recommend learning simple things like the five positions and basic movements, and you can find the info in ballet books or dvds :) if you do decide to, good luck! and thankyou for commenting :)
But i always think ballets look like idiots doing excersizing.
The only bit i dont burst out laughing at is standing on their toes & leaping into the air. I used to do ballet & i never found on the toes easy, i do now but sorry :/
i know you might think this, but doing this 'idiot' stuff enables you to do everything else. trying to do anything even slightly deifficult in ballet class is virtually impossibl without doing the normal exercises that develop the muscles that are needed to do the stuff that actually looks good. its not me your insulting, its really the people that develloped the RAD, and other dancing societies/acedemies who were probably the most important people in the ballet world.
I have no idea what your talking about when you get into the techinquel stuff.
I know you have to excerisize, i know ballet is very hard but wana know somthing harder? Horse ridiing. Its a lot like ballet, but harder. you have to focus on your position, straight back, pointed toes, relaxed shoulders but not slumped, right hands, leg secure. But while doing that you have to control half a ton animal.
take it from somebody who has done both for a number of years that ballet is a heck of a lot harder than horse riding. this video shows the very very basics of ballet. I did it for 11 years and i know the hard work that goes into it. I am a qualified riding instructor so i know about that too before you try to say i don't.
@skyandkit as a qualified riding instructor i teach all levels from complete beginners to very advanced, i.e. people going in for competition level or exams to teach . and i have known people end up in wheel chairs through ballet. that is why i can no longer dance. i have done the extremes of both my dear. i am older and wiser than i used to be and wouldn't any more that is why i teach rather than do! lol
I mean, I know everyone is going to hate me on here for saying this, but I don't see the point in ballet if it only causes pathetic injury that could easyily be prevented every month.
My friend is constantly pulling a tendon or something like that and I always say to her so whats the point? But I guess I can't understand, I don't have a passion for it nor see any point of it.
warm up properly and you should be okay. it is not your fault that you are ignorant on the subject. my injuries were caused through putting my body through years of abuse, both ballet, horse riding and motorbike accidents.
You sound like an idiot with all of those spelling and grammar mistakes in your comment. Why did you even watch this video if you're not interested in it?

Good job, all I could tell you was to work on your balance, I noticed your foot was a bit wobbly during your developes. Loved the video tho! (:
carlyheartsdance 2 years ago
One thing: when you plie I was noticing your legs roll over the level of your feet. That can be bad news for your knees in later years.
My ballet instructor says rolling inwards might be caused by a too-extreme turnout before being prepared.
Otherwise, nice video!

If your a riding instructor, I take it you teach younger kids?
Yeah, flapping your legs around to get a horse into trot isn't hard, but neither is pointing your toes and sliding your foot accross the floor.
You may have done the 'extremes' of ballet, and I the 'extremes' of horse riding.
But when was the last person someones died from a accident in the result of Ballet?
Not at all as life risking.

She goes to a 'top ballet class' as she likes to call it, so either they have really cruddy teachers or she just doesn't listen.
Well, that sucks for you and i'm sorry that you can't dance anymore.
