I think they did a good job explaining to people that dont understand what any MMORPG is. You can be anything you want and you meet people online like a community. I think its better that way then in real life in my opinion in some ways. Saves money and keeps people out of trouble. heh heh. The difference is that playing that game, most of them are dependant to it, and usually don't change except for outside pressure, in part due to the fact because they can't think by themselves: they literally are on automatic mode, answering simple question, it numbs their mind. And it is not the same for reading, getting drunk and having kids. TV is the spiritual father of computer in that case.

It's a GAME. If you want that feeling achieve something that'll matter otherwise don't bother. When you get to 70 you'll be happy, but then you'll realise.. some time or another that it wasn't worth anything (and the smart people know this).. it's JUST A GAME.
my highest lvl in wow is 32. i hate playing because it is boring and pointless. i still play because i want to hit 70 so i can "beat" it. i want so badly to know wat it is like to be 70, to have the epic flying mount, to have all the best gear.
Imo.. WoW isen't addictive in much ways, i think it takes up to much time.. Usaually when i'm playing i feel like its been 30minutes but it ends up its been 2 hours lol.. its a time addictive game. I dont think people actually want to play it for 16-24 hours straight.....
Wow isn't actually that addicting, the most i've ever played in a row was probably 2-4 hours. It gets boring easily and im too impatient to level up to 60/70. but wow is still my favourite mmorpg.

Now that depends sonny. They may actually make you think, but are you just going to repeat the same thinking all the time? e.g: FPS, even RPG, yes RPG raiding etc... Games are limited to their programming, so they are bound to repeat gradually.
And with TV, they are limited to # channels and each channel has something continuosly new to absorb in terms of knowledge (if you watch documentaries, news etc) otherwise.
truth is most reporter have no idea about what they are talking about. See why do people go to party and get wasted, cause they think it's fun, while it's unhealthy. I used to play this game over 8 months ago, then I quit cause I got addicted, played 12 hours a day. It's addicting, but quitting is easy, and what's addicting is the amount of people you meet and how nice people are compare to the real world. Of course after 1 year in wow, there's nothing left, so that made quitting easy.

The difference is that playing that game, most of them are dependant to it, and usually don't change except for outside pressure, in part due to the fact because they can't think by themselves: they literally are on automatic mode, answering simple question, it numbs their mind. And it is not the same for reading, getting drunk and having kids. TV is the spiritual father of computer in that case.

It's a GAME. If you want that feeling achieve something that'll matter otherwise don't bother. When you get to 70 you'll be happy, but then you'll realise.. some time or another that it wasn't worth anything (and the smart people know this).. it's JUST A GAME.

my highest lvl in wow is 32. i hate playing because it is boring and pointless. i still play because i want to hit 70 so i can "beat" it. i want so badly to know wat it is like to be 70, to have the epic flying mount, to have all the best gear.

Imo.. WoW isen't addictive in much ways, i think it takes up to much time.. Usaually when i'm playing i feel like its been 30minutes but it ends up its been 2 hours lol.. its a time addictive game. I dont think people actually want to play it for 16-24 hours straight.....

Wow isn't actually that addicting, the most i've ever played in a row was probably 2-4 hours. It gets boring easily and im too impatient to level up to 60/70. but wow is still my favourite mmorpg.

aha well i quit after 4 months, i had a lvl 54 paladin prot spec. i continue gaming but i never went too far. another note....no lie when i say im 13 and chinese.
also second life literally is another life, as in companies have made in-game stuff on it and hold meetings on it. hell, a teacher beccame a millionare off second life.

Now that depends sonny. They may actually make you think, but are you just going to repeat the same thinking all the time? e.g: FPS, even RPG, yes RPG raiding etc... Games are limited to their programming, so they are bound to repeat gradually.
And with TV, they are limited to # channels and each channel has something continuosly new to absorb in terms of knowledge (if you watch documentaries, news etc) otherwise.

truth is most reporter have no idea about what they are talking about. See why do people go to party and get wasted, cause they think it's fun, while it's unhealthy. I used to play this game over 8 months ago, then I quit cause I got addicted, played 12 hours a day. It's addicting, but quitting is easy, and what's addicting is the amount of people you meet and how nice people are compare to the real world. Of course after 1 year in wow, there's nothing left, so that made quitting easy.
