I've had this happen before. I don't believe the propane tank is what killed him, because I have shot the propane tank and killed someone that way, but I got no kill for it whatsoever. It counts as a "death by environment" if they are the last person alive. No one gets any points. I've seen this happen before though, I torque bowed a kid and I got a lancer kill. I think it glitches every now and then and shows the symbol of what you swapped for the gun you are currently using. Just a theory.

It happens in Gears 2 as well, because the torque arrow itself (prior to explosion) is equivalent to a lancer bullet, so in horde at times if a locust is terribly low on health, you're "torque" kill will appear as a lancer kill.

In gears 1 the environmental death marker is a lancer also when someone quits out it says they killed themselves with a lancer. In gears 2 it's a small skull with an explosion behind it, I think.

You downed him, but his teammate shot the tank with a lancer. So, when the tank blew up as a result of the lancer he died, since it was your down but he was KILLED by a LANCER (technically) it says YOU LANCERED him. Ned of story :)

It said you lancered him because the tank blew up after you active downed him. It's kind of like when you active down someone that was charging a torque. They get downed and their own torque kills them but it counts as you getting the torque kill even if you didn't have a torque in your hands.

it was probaly because of the compressed gas at ruffly 54 degrees and the air ( oxygen ) at a ruffly 20 degrees therefore the lacer chamber and bullet must ruffly be the weight of 2 pencils.

it was the propane tank. but as far as active downing goes. for fucks sake its a sniper rifle. if you get hit by it then there is a good chance you will fall to your feet. so maybe you wont be running around in the open and you will use teamwork against the sniper.i personally don't active down people without allowing their team to pick them up. i go for the head because that is so much more satisfying. . without them the other power weapons would be overpowering. but i still get annoyed.
