this song is 32 pages. im up through the fourth page, and it got really boring.. the beginning is really cool tho... my piano teacher is making me finish it! curse u beethoven. did him and other composers have competitions of who can make the longest song? cuz moonlight sonata mvmt 3 is over 30 pages as well. :/

not mysterious enough at the beggining, should be more pianissimo and more attention to phrasing in the right hand on third page, lots of abrupt transitions, gets alot more hype than it deserves
lol, well that argument usually annoys the heck out of me. one, i have a video posted of me of the exposition, (which is not the way i want it to be played). but two, the better video would be vladimir horowitz which is available on youtube
yeah, well alot of people respond to criticism with, "if you cant play better yourself, dont talk, its an annoying argument, regardless of whether or not i can play it. no problem, i have personal tastes :p

Faster doesn't mean better. Great accuracy and speed but this performance lacks sensitivity, it seems more superficial than the specialists Arrau or Kempff. (4 stars)
Yes. Freire is much more sensitive and musical than he was when he was young. This is the result of a lifetime of dedication, hard work, and commitment.
Yes, Beethoven had short fat fingers, and was the greatest pianist up until his day. He thought Napoleon was God, then thought he was Satan when he crowned himself. Musically he was classical until 1800, Imperial romantic until 1818, and etherial thereafter, with the Choral Fantasie, the 9th and the final quartets. If you want to know Beethoven's legacy, listen to Berlioz, who composed his defining works less than ten years after Beethoven. His Requem makes Beethovens look small.
What?!? All I said was he has stumps for fingers? The has pratically no fingers, so lets give him a round of applause for playing piano with knubs for fingers.
BMWmotorrad14 is right, some interpret this piece even faster. This piece must be played in this tempo (Allegro), and must be played vigorously (Allegro con brio). So this piece must be played like in a rush in order to provoque that sensation. Consequently there aren´t many interpretive possibilities really in this piece because does not have a great emotional complexity. This is why i prefer this interpretation more than Arrau´s, for instance.
