Well, they are meant to be in the wild, just like tigers and elephants, but because they are small size, people think its okay to own them, but its wrong. They have to live in the wild, eat bigs, climb trees, enjoy the life outdoors..

i don't know if they realize it, but all creatures have memory. So I guess, he will see same cage everyday for the rest of his life, unless his memory is reset every morning. But I don't know, just didn't realize people had them as pets.

It's no different from having a dog really. People only had dogs because somebody at some point figured out how to domesticate a wolf.

In fact it's been proven that chameleons are less stressed in captivity than in the wild. They're pretty shy creatures. I just feed, water mine and generally leave him alone. He's more funny and fascinating to watch than he is to hold.

Inhumane? last I checked animals weren't human. Also dogs are meant to live in the wild just like cats, but they were domesticated to get along with people it's the same process that a large variety of other animals already adapted to.

they're brill pets, if you've got all the right stuff you need to look after them then they're easy to look after, just feed em' crickets & make sure you keep them warm with a heat lamp but remember they get up to 2ft long lol, also i'd recommend speaking to an expert about them before you buy it (:

its not true that they change color to blend with surroundings when a preditor is near. just thier typical color is green, and they stay green while they are in thier environment...if the preditor tried to attack it[depending on the species] would either turn black,hiss and nip [like the veiled chams] or get even brighter puff up and hiss [like most panthers]

most people think chameleons change their color to their surroundings... they are wrong. they actually change their color based on their mood.

eg. when they are mad they turn a black/brown with orange.

in their usual moods they are a greenish color
