  • I had to pick a song that effectively showed the tenets of Romanticism for an English project and it was this one!

  • omg, now I know where VV Brown comes from!!!!

  • This is a good song - a more 'rock' version - I have the original R&B one by Natalie.

  • What a song and artist!! I'm not racist but I bet if this song was performed by a white lady, the whole damn world will go deff by too much hype by the media, they'l still be making a big deal about it today .. you may decline but this is the truth!! Racism is still lingering and nothing has changed really!!!

  • @twodavh You know, not that I totally don't think racism is still pervasive, but your evidence for it is that a particular song made 20 years ago is not still famous in 2011?

  • @Ashleymjy You cajole me with your appraisal of my statement. Not that I expect a song made 20 years ago to be famous in 2011; but shouldn’t it be? I mean, who is really making music these days? My point is racial discrimination is far rooted in human society that we subconsciously practice it. Tell me honestly, how many Mongoloids or Negro artist get half the recognition our Caucasian artist get for doing nothing actually? By the way, I am Caucasian ..

  • @twodavh Yeah, I figured you were white.

Whether the song should or shouldn't still be famous is a matter of opinion. We may think so, but of course, we're the ones looking it up in 2011. You can't really make an argument out of that. The vast majority of songs don't stay around for very long, and there have got to be people who like them all. Does anyone still remember 'Into the Ocean'? Absolute whitebread song, and was a big hit only 3-4 years ago.

  • @twodavh 'For doing nothing actually' is a dumb statement. Regardless of your opinion of an artist, they all still have to sing the songs in order for consumers to consume them. MOST musicians just churn out the crap that is written for them. Some musicians make BIG HITS out of songs about how annoying and constricting the business is. The black/white color barrier in *most* music genres is trivial. Perhaps one of few places where that could be said.

  • @twodavh Your bit about Asians, assuming you used the somewhat disparaging term correctly and weren't simply throwing it in to look fancy, is true. But of course, we aren't having this conversation on an Asian music video, are we? :)
