hi, i will be your nightmare... I have your same mb, P5b, I have this problems: 1) i can read my type but not the manufactor. 2)using /s parameter, the process displays stuff like: 8000 ................ 10000 ............... 18000 .............. ecc ecc and is 10 times longer. 3) i can't load CD from MS-Dos. 4)Am I stupid?
never give up, never surrender! this will be a success in the end
1) im not quite sure what that is supposed to be. You can detect the flash id? Yes? Great! This looks like in my video? Although the video shows an unsucsessfull /p flash, the detection is absolutely valid and correct, so for our asus p5b its the same as in the video.
2) using /s its absolutly right to look totally different and take "forever" this is right! This is how it worked for me too!
3) this worked for me, but you dont have to do that. Just use two diskettes, that should do it. One is used for booting dos, then you chance to your second diskette, it containts the flash tools and the bios *.rom file. This is how i did it. There are instructions on how to set up a boot usb stick woth msdos on it, but i couldnt get that to work.
4) no, most probably you are not. But well, the outcome of every succsessfull flash is that one is totally unhappy with the way asus did this crap
hi, if you cant detect your chip id, the cable is not good. dont give up, it can be done. Double check your cable. Maybe have a look at the links provided in the video info.
thank you so much for the support (technical and moral)! I couldn't belive that asus fail develop the updating software!
keep trying...
