  • I read that his father studied under Martin Luther himself.

  • @coreliandude. Thanks. I'm now hooked on Praetorius. Wasn't before. It ran through my head all last night. This morning I looked like death warmed up!

  • et si nous danse ensemble. Merci.

  • I love this! Praetorius is one of my favourites. This arrangement is by my hero David Munrow, I believe?

    RIP David.

  • @lilythepink123 Indeed, one of the all time greats of Early Music.

  • Praetorius rules, I am thinking about copying his hairstyle and beard, and yes, I need those clothes, women are crazy about it.

  • LOL... Yeah... I know what you mean. I tried to have that look also, but my genetics are very distant to those of the European composers of the XVI - XVII Century.

  • I kid you not. Thats what the Pastor of our Lutheran Church told me. This guy Gregor is one of the top corale singers of Germany, plus his jet black hair curly particularly round the back, similar hair line and jaw.Its not beyond the realms of possibility surely.

  • To this day Darryl Dragon, the Captain of Captain and Tenille, has to insist although his ancestory is Romanian, he's no decendent of Vladislaus Dracula.

  • Tonight I met Gregor Praetorius. He was singing as a member of Ensemble Nobiles from St Thomaskirche in Leipzig at a concert in Wellington NZ. He is related to Michael and there is an uncanny likeness to his 438 year old forefather. Amazing

  • No way!!! Didn't know he still had live descendants.

  • thank you for put this in youtube Coreliandude76

  • ¡Very good! this is one of my favorites videos

  • Wow! It's bloody rough music! Ta ever so!

  • Just wonderful music !!!

  • XD O_o

  • Sol Lucet Omnibus!!

  • What power, what majesty abounds in the claret blare of this, most noble and lively of dead composers!!

    Kudos Praetor!!

  • Thank God for this son of a Lutheran Christian Pastor, St. Michael Praetorius! :)

  • Damn right!!!!

  • Although the music is many centuries old, it sounds as fresh and alive as if it was composed yesterday

  • That's what I love about ancient music.

  • It is nice to see some of the colourful music associated with Michael Praetorius. Keep up the good work!
