I'm not sure I get it, but it is the first time I've listened to it. Beyond all else, the refrain sticks out - 'if you love me, won't you let me know'. It seems like the world is enforcing different ideologies ('banks' become 'cathedrals' - religious overtones; 'bibles' hollowed out into 'rifles' - fanaticism) in the supposedly best interests of the individual.
