  • Actually, this is the way the form was originally intended to be. Sine wave wasn't even introduced until about 20 years ago, and even then it was mostly to separate Tae Kwon Do from other forms of martial arts. Its funny how much ITF insists that sine wave is the best way to produce power, but I have never seen anyone use sine wave while they spar. Know your history before you start bashing others. Great job akumah. Nice sustained side kicks. Wish mine looked that nice!

  • That's a damn shame... Who ever says that this"juche"(...at least I think this was juche? It was ssoo fast I couldn't tell :S) was the best they've seen clearly needs to get some PROPER training and get taught by some One who is actually a certified black belt

Instructor only thing that was decent was your sloppy kicks :/ sorry man but

You got a waaayyys to go !

  • Yeah, i agree with the problem that you had, a little too fast. you probably perfected the form by now, but just pointing out that the jump spinning hooks, and the split kick needed a lot of work lol. all in all nice performance.

  • NICE!

  • Hey, I think you did well on this. I usually watch Jaroslaw Suska and enjoy his way of performing it, but your speed and snap add flavor to the form. Good job.

  • Interesting performance. Clearly have some good skills. Interested to read some of the comments re ITF vs old non sine wave technique. The reality is ITF Taekwon-do has evolved, as all martial arts should, Juche can only really be done properly if using current ITF sine wave technique - after all that's what it was designed for. Not saying there's anything wrong with the old way but its just not modern Taekwon-do.

  • exellent conditions... but you have to relax... enjoy the tul...

  • My god that is just awesome, I am currently trying to learn it but man that was incredible just awe inspiring, I cant get through the form without hurting myself in some way

  • Yikes! This guy is very talented, but he's not an ITF practitioner. It's a shame to see the ITF patterns (and Juche of all? irony!) being performed by people that can't possibly understand the nuances of an ITF pattern. They (the patterns) really are incredibly well thought out! And an WTF or 'other' TKD practitioner cannot possibly 'get' the pattern if he is not versed in the ITF fundamentals. Sorry. Slow down.. Breath.. Move your bo.. Aw forget it!

  • well done! i'm thinking about doing this form for a nationals tournament, and urs is the best i've seen so far!!! personally, i dont think it was too fast. and even though u were a little wobbly here and there, i really liked it!!! if u go to aau nationals, i think u could win!

  • very good actually, but no sinewave, no breathing techniques

  • in my opinion, the speed is good, but the finish on the end of the techniques could do with a little work. my forms are sometimes the same. just make sure there is a nice snap on the end of each movement before performing the next one. also, try dropping your bodyweight into the techniques more, it will make them more powerful. :-)

  • same pattern ninja storm but its no where near as good as ITF quality

im only a 1st dan but juche is one of the hardest patterns to learn take your time with it

think its class and do well

its too fast and ruched to be good as itf mate!

  • That is the same style that my ITF Taekwon-Do school preforms Hyungs(Tuls). Our school is based on the first variation that Gen. Choi created based heavily on Shotokan Karate. Your form is very good though. Either sign wave or no sign wave we are all ITF students. Its sad to see that even in ITF schools there is seperation, its bad enough we have WTF and ITF split.

  • itf is much better ITF and wtf shouldnt be together wtf is shite

its soo much better to be an ITF than any other taekwondo keep that in mind buddy ;)

  • completely disagree. Both are awesome with different philosophies and directions as per syllabi and function. The ITF system is renowned for being a martial art and Kukkiwon TKD as a highly developed sport in South Korea with huge respect for both of them especially amongst the younger generation. Ur assertion of WTF is irrelavant as the WTF is nothing to do with the system it is merely the sports governing body; the Kukkiwon standardises the curriculum. Taekwon

  • haha put it that way and ive agree'd with you haha taekwon :)

  • True. Even though i am in the TAGB (Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain), It's sad that there is a clear split within Tae Kwon-Do. I may not like WTF but i still accept that it is Tae Kwon-Do in some form. As Bruce Lee says. '' We should focus on the tree itself, not the many different branches and flowers that stem from it''

  • overall i think the form was good. i think if u slowed down a bit it would made the form better. your kicks are good. also i like this style forms better then whatever wavey thing that other ppl do. the wavey thing just looks funny to me and kinda sloppy. not bashing ITF taekwondo by any means its just its not my preference. also martial arts is a type of art. art is an expression of self. martial arts isn't just about applications and fighting and stuff. its about mental concentration.

  • Man, you're good. I can't stand these bashers that don't even know the meaning behind the movement and keep coming with this ITF supremacy talk. Where is the respect? Go get yourselves some training!

  • it's ok to move fast. forms are used for fighting, and he's somewhat moving in combat speed. if you were in a fight, would you stop?

  • Very nice looking tul. I have allways prefered the non sine-wave style myself. Keep up the good work!

    :D

  • Ahh, typical ABC attitude.

  • Anderson- Who died and made you an authority on martial arts? Please, for the sake of everyone... take my advice and go embarass yourself elsewhere.

  • I practise the same pre-1980 TKD akumah does and to me, the non-sinewave variant makes the applications clearer. But maybe it's just whatever you're used to more. Remember, until about four generations ago there was no such thing as "practising application", bunkai/ taeryon etc. but only kata, kata, kata, and...

  • ...and I suppose that the masters back then (who practised MUCH longer before they would consider themselves "masters" or even "teachers" than people in the last decades have, including and especially gen. Choi!), put some thought into the reasons for it.

  • @AndersonChan84 Your an ass

  • @AndersonChan84 People like you with such disrespect shouldn't be called martial artist. If you even are one. Get a clue. Keep your negitive feed back to your self. A-- Head

  • O Dear! What ITF is that?! What are you lot on about 'nice form'? A Form is in Kung-Fu! In ITF TKD it is Pattern or Tul. What are those stances and where is the sine wave?! I am a 2nd Dan in TaeKwon-Do and I would be laughed at if i performed Juche like that. To see the best Juche in the world look out for 'Suska'(Poland) or 'Maxime Bojould' (Canada)!

  • This technique is ITF Taekwon-Do from before Gen. Choi introduced the sine wave and when it was more similar to Shotokan Karate. I practise the same. Saying akumah does it wong is saying all Shotokan and early TKD is wrong. How silly!

  • agreed!

  • nice man, too bad u re going a bit 2 fast n tt u butt come out when u side kick.

  • Definitely a little nervous, but still well-executed... Hope I can do it that well someday...

  • on the other hand his hand techniques seem to lack some snap and power he is just throwing them around. great leg control though

  • kodang was the 2nd degree form before it was replaced by juche, i forget them reason when the genral did it. i think kodang is more popular in the us than in europe.

  • Juche replaced Ko-Dang because the General thought it was too easy or not challenging enough for 2nd degrees wishing to advance to 3rd. Ko-Dang is less challenging on the legs & so Juche was deveopled to make students work for 3rd degree.

  • It's nice to finally be able to see this form done by someone at another club as most organizations replaced it with something called ko-dang? Jump higher, attack harder watch what your hands are doing and SHOUT! at completion. Other wise not bad who ever that guy is.

  • nice form - i liked the pacing of it, but i probably do my forms too fast as well! i'm glad my club still does juche as well as kodan as it really is a challenge to learn.

  • It is an honor to see another student of ITF tae kwon do. I am really interested in Juche because at my school it was replaced by ko-dan and Juche is learned later. Keep up your good work

  • Juche in ONE minute. Woah buddy slow it down.

You have awesome control though and great job with the sidekicks.

  • AWESOME PERFORMANCE!!! ITF forms for life! i have yet to perfect juche... im working on eui-am ko-dang and chun-jang still. nice performance!

  • Well done. Technique : worthy of a blackbelt.
