  • Really? They still call it an ION whether it is with an Atom 230 or Atom 330?! They only change the name when they use socketed CPUs. Either way that isn't really important.....all they need to do is to get either Nvidia or ATi to build a mobo with a Via Nano with one of their chipsets rather than Via's own Unichrome rubbish and then they would have something that can compete with the Nvidia ION. At the moment....they don't...but things can change very quickly.

  • it's not a matter of the cpu they combine it with. And yes, i totally agree with you. Nano plus ION would be just fantastic. Centaur Technology is developed an awesome cpu with the Nano but VIAs' chipset just can't keep up. The Lenovo Ideapad S12 will be the first to sport this combo hopefully.

  • When had ION been compatibale with VIA Nano?

I really did not remember that?

  • For months now.

  • Wow, so maybe we could see some netbooks built with VIA Nano + ION soon?

  • Yes.

  • ION is just another name for the Nvidia 9400 graphics chipset. They just bolt it on so the Nano doesn't have to be 'compatible' as such....it just is. Its just like combining an ATI or Nvidia graphics card with your system....simple as that.

  • ION is a complete chipset not only the gpu!
