@chris34513451 Bro, YOU are RETARDED! Do you even know who this guy is? He has written books and sets the standard for strength training. So if I'm an NFL receiver and my coach who is shorter, slower and less athletic then I am and can't make the catches he's SHOWING me how to do because he's also 50+ years old and maybe put on some weight since his prime, then I shouldn't listen to him "Brah"?
@korvix I know the gut doesnt show it, but he probally has the strongest legs around Wichita Falls. He's not a bodybuilder. he just deals with strength.
@Straightdamageman I have seen powerlifters clean up their diets and they look like bodybuilders without training that way. amazing what strength training done properly can do.
extral rotaters, that's exactly what has hurting as well. you can't believe how sore they've been. extral rotators and upper abductors. God dammit I wish I had access to this guy to look at my form since I've based my entire trainning around what he's talking about.
I have been trying to do for the last year exactly what he's talking about. the aductors is brutal, right where he is grabbing when he demostrates is exactly where I've been the sorest. it's not just strength you need to develop it's the length of those muscles. I think in all the videos I've seen he underestimates the amount of time it takes to adapt to that posture.
everything in his books or videos makes it sound like it's a correction that can be made in a day or week, it took months.
Adductor Magnus as two heads which both insert at the entire linea aspera and the adductor tubercle. One head originates at the Pubis and is innervated by the Obturator nerve, which means its action is hip adduction. The OTHER head of the Adductor Magnus originates at the Ischial Tuberosity and is innervated by the Sciatic Nerve; this sounds exactly like a Hamstring (Short Head Biceps Femoris is the exception). Therefore, the Adductor MAGNUS directly contributes to hip extension.
I'm a fan of Mark Rippetoe, and I do squat this stance with low bar, but he made an error: the Adductor Longus does not originate at the Ischial Tuberosity and it does not insert on the distal medial femur. Rather, the Adductor Longus originates at the Pubis and inserts at the middle 1/3 of the linea aspera of the posterior femur. His point of adductors contributing to hip extension would have been more accurate if he used the Adductor MAGNUS as an example.
