Using the term allergic reaction sends a mixed message. People with allergies can take pills or get shots to relieve their symptoms - consider it more like a chemical reaction. MCS or Environmental Illness is not an allergy it is a reaction to an overexposure to chemicals/toxins. I wish it were an allergy and I could take something for it.

I can't speak for Dr. Ziem, but research tentatively points to exposure of the fetus to environmental toxins. In other words, an expectant mother breathes, drinks, eats, or has skin contact with low-level toxins on a regular or frequent basis and passes them in her bloodstream to the developing baby. This seems to be the case but it will take years to confirm this. Of course, if this scenario is true, then it would mean our entire way of life would need to change to protect unborn kids.

I'm so glad Dr. Ziem is continuing to speak out on chemical exposures. I would like to know if she feels the current autism epidemic is yesterdays MCS, if these infants can not hold up to so many vaccines and additives.
