  • one on favorites

  • I love the perfect sound of the drum and the bass joined together between 0:15 and 0:16 ... pay attention to it. So PERFECT :D thats... Floyd, right? :D

  • thank you, the Record is first quality

  • wow!!! what a song!.. That last verse on mary whitehouse was genius.

screw you mary whitehouse for banning all the good stuff on tv like katy perry on sesame street. It is so amazing the way pink shaped george orwell's book into an album.

"ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS"

    - George Orwell, Animal Farm, Ch. 10

  • I love the goose stepping geese at the end!

  • what a great political statement

  • the bass line is just amazing, pobably my favourite in the whole world!

  • Isn't it funny, Pink Floyd can get so deep and understand things so well but even then they succumb to their own egos, insecurities, downright power struggles and break up. Kind of ironic, get it........ the human animal.

  • nah, you're just being a dick. otherwise, you'd realize that the Might Floyd is the culmination of many parts, Just like Zeppelin, Sabbath, Beatles, etc. Remove one element, and it ceases to be. Learn how music works past a bong there dude.

  • This solo messes me up every time. If I could beat my head against a brick wall with out passing out I would. Most amazing solo of all time IMO!!!

  • Saw animals show at Anaheim Stadium... I think 1978. Pink was at their best and unforgetable. This was their best critically received album

  • 1:03. HAHAAAAAAAAAAAA CHARADE!

  • pigs is pigs

  • i love it how the solo "fades away"at the end.

  • DSOM and The Wall are great albums. But the first time I spun this record, I was in complete awe. Words can not descibe the feeling. My hair on the back of neck stood straight up. Pigs, Dogs, Sheep. what a concept, what an album. They don't make them like this anymore. Nor do I think anyone ever will.

  • Everyone says THE WALL or DARK SIDE.. Well for me, ANIMALS is the BEST ALBUM in the History of Music... 10.00 minutes+ songs that every note is perfection.. It is difficult to find it somewhere else ;) The BEST band ever on Planet Earth (maybe in the universe)

  • Dave Gilmour guitar on "the animals" album is tremendus like in all Floyd stuff.Just imagine Pink Floyd without him...I can't really.

  • listen to the first couple of records.

    syd had his own charm.

  • I agree,Syd started everything, but ride in all PF music and you see David and his guitar shining all the time, listen this song and just concentrate yourself on the guitar,it's great stuff, mate.Another amazing one on this album is "sheep",on the chorus his guitar sounds like a sharp blade and "sheep" ends with a monumental sequence of guitar chords..Fantastic!

  • Great video and song. George Orwell and George Roger Waters, two genius of the 20th century.

    Peace.

  • it's not White House, it's [Mary] Whitehouse.

  • Roger Waters hated Thatcher and Reagan. You'd be wrong.

  • Is This and the previous video the real videos of this song?

  • no it is not. it's a movie called " animal farm"

  • Oh thanks man

  • its a book aswell and it really is a great read

  • He was actually referring to Mary Whitehouse, a British activist.

  • this is one of my favorite solos by david

i wish i knew how he ends it but all the live versions on youtube are too fuzzy

  • Gostei muito do vídeo, além da música ser de extrema qualidade.

  • hey you whitehouse a charade you are

  • you house brown town mouse

  • its house proud not house brown

  • lol the duck dancing to the solo

  • the best song on the CD. Sheep is second!

  • Definitely a great song, also great album

  • THIS SONG IS THE APOTHEOSIS.

  • why do the animals move their mouths? o.o

  • these are clips from the movie Animal Farm. the animals talk in it,.

It sounds childish, but its actually an allegory for communism and dictatorships.

  • i see XD

  • just thought id let you know lol

  • and is this good or bad ? ^^

  • To be more direct, it was what Orwell thought of Russian Communism, with which he had a bad confrontation with in Spain, during the Spanish Civil War.

  • It has an awful lot to do with closing an open society.

  • One of the top Gilmore guitar solo's, at the end of this piece of music.

    AWESOME!

  • 3:23

  • hahahaha

  • the greatest fuckin group ever.

    end of discussion

  • Yes

  • @wvturnip Yeah!!! XD XD XD XD XD my "personal" gods XD XD XD ;D

  • thats such a coincidinkle because when i watch animal farm i always think of this album

  • im seeing Aussie Floyd in just about 1 month..can't fucking wait

  • yeah the song is called 'pigs...' so they show pigs. They must've been up all night thinking that one up

  • Still stemming that "evil tide", all tight lips and cold feet?

  • do you feel abuuuuused?

  • best song high hmmm frank zappa good too

  • you piece of shit don't even try to compare PINK FLOYD with any one else

  • echoes is wayyyyyyy better

  • man this song plus animal wud have me gonnnnnnneee if i was high right now

  • zeppelin, floyd, sabbath, stones. its a toss up all are great and cannot be compared to one another. thats my take anyhoow

  • So very true. Totally agree!

  • This brings back to when I just damn to many drugs! But look who wrote this Rodger...he was stoned 24/7/365!!,,,,,and a NuT!!

    Love Floyd!!

    Rock on !!!

  • Ummm, after Syd was gone, none of the band did drugs. They saw the devastation in Syd's life and decided they didn't want that. Now as for being a NuT, oh yeah, but a brilliant lyricist nonetheless. I disagree with his politics in almost every category, but talent is talent, and PF certainly possessed that.

  • uhm, im 100% sure they all drank and roger says david and rick were the potheads of them all but u are right about the acid.

  • I'm sure they did drink and likely still do. I wouldn't put too much stock in what Roger has said about any of the other members after the split, especially Rick or Dave. He once said Nick couldn't play drums too. You be the judge. Just bitterness talking.

  • you are right, but it kinda makes sense but im sure roger smoke a shit ton lol

  • and how does a man with such a big fuckin brain find the justification for talkin shit about one of the most soulful strat men in the history of guitar players, as well as certainly one of the top 4 or 5 rock drummers

there ever was? and rick? hes the one that usually took you somewhere else. roger is fuckin bass genius and poet extraordinaire, but it is not possible to trivialize the importance of all 4 members of this uniquely talented group of musicians.

    lighten up, rog.

  • rick had a coke problem.

im sure they all did acid at some point. being friends with Syd and all. who doesn't drink?

and if you do acid you most likely smoke pot.

you cant listen to DSOTM and say they they were completely clean..

hahaha but you got to love em

  • dude, u gotta see the interview off of live at pompei

waters is puffin away on a joint half the time

    its on youtube somewhere

  • yea, they all did drugs. But im sad when pink floyd is labeled as stoner music because that caterogizes them. Pink floyd is genius to everyone in the planet. Just because they are pink floyd.

  • nobody can even be compared to the floyd

  • What about Australian Floyd? ;-)

  • saw Aussie Floyd 2xs and they blew me away

  • DUDE.. I SAW EM TOO.. ARE THEY NOT FRIGGIN AMAZING?!!? I foyu closed your eyes.. and just listened.. *reminisces* soooo freaking great..

  • you have to see their rendition of "the wall".......FUCKING OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I feel bab for my comment, what I said I beleive, however the vid rockss. Understood? bgood

  • I grew up with this song.. I love the book animal farm, and i like part 1, but this is no goodddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Greatest Band all time I dont wana hear about The Stones,The Beatles, or Zeplin, all fantastic great bands for sure, but Floyd Was ALL AROUND better, and if i dint say your name then you were not even close, im not trying to be a d1ck , i just calls it hows I sees it.

  • And you speak the truth my friend. No one stands up to Pink Floyd, NO ONE. They are the greatest to ever grace this Earth. If you think otherwise your a nob :)

  • pink floyd is awesome....but in my opinion they are the 3rd best of all time...not THE best........my list is....1-led zeppelin 2-the who 3-pink floyd

  • I still don't get why Zepp is revered as the "best ever". It was a bunch of uninspired anthem/arena rock. Save it. You take it.

I'll take The Floyd. These four men are the most musically talented rock musicians to ever walk this earth, and that will ever walk this earth.

Long Live PINK FLOYD, in our hearts, minds, and on vinyl. ;-)

  • uninspired? ....they were the inspirers! floyd is definately the most "emotional" rock n roll band ever...but i still like zep more...

  • My list is 1)Pink Floyd, 2)Supertramp, 3)Moody Blues, 4)Boston, 5)Led Zeppelin... 10)The Who... etc.

  • those are all good....but the only one that can come close to comparing to led zeppelin (in my opinion) is pink floyd and the who.....u should watch "the song remains the same" DVD ....its an hour and a half of led zeppelin concert footage...and most of it is improvised....its amazing...its the reason whhy i think led zeppelin is so awesome...

  • Yeah man, I have 19 and I saw "The Song Remains The Same" (My father bought it in VHS) and it's good, very good man... but, I don't know man... Pink Floyd is PINK FLOYD, I mean, Led Zeppelin is such a great band of music, but I think Pink Floyd is the best...

  • ...whatever...they are both gods among men...its just a matter of opinion on whos better... i think pink floyd might be a better studio band....but led zeppelin is without a doubt the best live band to ever walk this earth...and i personally prefer live music to studio music...

  • Yeah man, you have reason... I preffer the studio music so I preffer Pink Floyd (in live sucks) and you preffer the live music so you preffer Led Zeppelin...

    THAT'S RIGHT!!!!!!!!!

  • pink floyd sucks live?? lol...funny...the band with the greatest stage performance of all time sucks live...makes sense...live music blows studio out of the water, and if you dont realize that then you're doing something wrong (like sitting in your house listening rather than going!)...live music is the best, and pink floyd zeppelin and the dead are/were and always will be the best at it :D

  • I like hear Pink Floyd in live but, I feel, it's better in Studio; after have listened camara music, like classical such as Beethoven; I think that the special way of Pink Floyd isn't play music in live, unless in studio.

Pink Floyd is my best group of music of all the times, so, I love all them songs (in live or in studio). But in the studio it's better (SUCH IN MY OPINION).

(sorry, I know my english is not pretty well)

  • its cause the live recordings arent that good...i bet you would be blown away if you saw them live in concert yourself, with the amazing equipment they have, that cant be done justice when recorded and listened to again...i wish i could see them live sooo bad, but check out some stuff from the "pulse tour" they did in the 90s, its quality!! hey, and no worries bout the grammar my friend, cheers!

  • P.U.L.S.E is a great DVD :) i recommend u go buy it if u dont already have it

  • ok just amend it to read "Such is my Opinion" :O)) or try to use IMO in my opinion :O))

  • I don't really agree about that. Some of the concerts I have been to were great sounding (Iron Maiden, in 1985, and Black Sabbath in 1999 sounded the best to me), but some were down right awful! I missed out on ever seeing Pink Floyd live *kicks self*, but I have seen/heard many live vids of them. They sound incredible and I am so sorry I missed them *kicks self, again*.

  • supertramp better than zeppelin....ur a deuche

  • lol

  • Social commentary is what sets pink floyd apart in every way from the others. No one touched pink floyd on that and no one still does really.

Its sad that in 30 years no one else has matched these guys in this way, but it has raised them to #1 all time because of it imo.

  • no one has touched Floyd in anything.

  • Hey dont forget Nick Mason and Richard Wright they had a huge part in the band and actually Mason wrote this song.

  • there all awesome

  • The end of this song is the reason that god created guitars. The guy is so nasty.Listen to Dave kill it.

  • My second favorite PF guitar riff (behind Echoes and ahead of Comfortably Numb).

  • dont forget about dave shredding in "FREE FOUR" friggin excellent

  • Yeah, by the album: Obscured By Clouds. But I prefrer "Whot's... uh the deal?".

    PINK FLOYD!

  • @Absolutelycourtins YEA MAN, that is one of mine favorites as well bro

  • brividi

  • waters was the force behind the FLoyd, after he left, they got"diluted",the creativity was gone-IMHO...the guy with Syd was a nut.

  • waters alone = good, gilmour alone = good, both of them together = more than the sum of their parts... imho

  • yeah true, thats called sinergy

  • It is Mary Whitehouse he's talking about in the song. Awesome Vid!!! Perfect for Roger Waters' masterpiece.

  • that pig is bushwacher...hey you white house,I shall ride you on

  • not white house, whitehouse, a person. :D

  • Correction: "Hey you Whitehouse, Charade you are!"

  • for all that dont know its refering to a lady named mary whitehouse who was one of them people who was offended by everything, kinda like them people who thought gta3 was gonna make kids kill people cept thats a bit after her time.

  • And "hot stuff with a hatpin" was Maggie Thatcher yes yes?

  • this is from the movie ANIMAL FARM which was a book first and its really good.

  • the solo at the end is outa control good.

  • where do was the footage of the video from. i love the song.

  • Been looking all over for this complete version. Thanks. I wonder who Mary is.

  • i think its mary whitehouse

  • correct

  • pig is so good!ummm bacon-i will eat you pigs!!!haha

  • Bus stop rat bag, ha ha, charade you are

  • Im never eating bacon again

  • HA HA :)

  • who wants a nice bacon or sausage sandwitch????oooops sorry piggies :(

  • ha ha how right you are....

  • you house proud town house....

  • its town mouse

  • hey you white house... ha ha how white you are... :)

  • all of you have it wrong. the lyrics are "charade you are"

  • that was awesome mixing animal farm with pink floyd

  • apologize song. one of the best for me with sheep and dogs , definitively their best album for me. a lesson for all the actualy progressive rock bands (sorry for my poor english....!!)

  • this song will get stuck in your head, and you will never forget it

  • ok man learn to hear or something those arent even close to the lyrics....but nice try

  • Say person,Do you have a tree stuffed up your buttocks? Are you always trying to tell people to leave it alone? You sound like stuffed baggage and worse for it.Big Ballona

  • Pig man pig man ha ha I should write you all, whu. You well heeled big wheel ha ha I should write you all.But when you hand is on your heart, your nearly a good glove, almost a joker. When your deep down in the pig pen saying keep on kicking, big strain on your pig mind.Your nearly alight, nearly aloft but you really will cry.

  • but wasnt there only two pigs in animal farm?napoleon and-???.why pigs 3 different ones for the title?

  • I presume (if you look at the lyrics for the song) Roger was talking about three different shades of the pig persona or archetype or character that you find in Animal Farm or in life in general. One is the persona that will push a man to work himself to death -- the slave-driver, the marxian boss, the factory owner.

  • the slave driver who works 4 the marxist boss-who works in turn 4 for the factory owner.O.K. i can dig on that

  • No he was'nt.Big Ballona

  • Alright, the first verse is talkin' about the people in power in general. The second verse (the bus stop rat bag fucked-up old hag) is Margeret Thatcher, the Prime Minister of Britain from 1975 to 1990. The third verse is dissing Mary Whitehouse, who was some cunt who promoted decency. She insulted Pink Floyd by saying that they were immoral and advocated drug-use and sex.

  • ...

One is the dark side of our personalities -- the 'fucked up old hag' as they portray it. And one is the politician at the top of the totem born proud and constantly looking down his nose at everyone else. The ethos combining it all is that they're all 'charades' for personal gain.

  • Where did you get the lyrics for this song?Does pinkfloyd think thats whats being sung?By the way,I think pinkfloyd are theives and don't compose, write,or perform any of the music sold under their stage name.Big Ballona

  • are u kidding me? go fucking hang urself u have no life

  • To save space go to pinkfloyd dogs of war,andrew72287.Naturally,the opposition exists to me.Big Ballona

  • The

  • He's talking about 3 actual people (well... 2 actual people and 1 type of people...)

  • This is fantastic,

  • great editing

  • Excellent man! i do love that song, where can i find the movie?

  • this is from babe

  • No it's all from Hallmark's version of Animal Farm
