It's the saint of death which drug thugs are embracing along with "Malverde" and has been popularized since the drug wars blew up in Mexico. The crawling was suppose to explain the ritual of crawling to the underworld to speak to the saint of death. Hope that helps.

What's so darn amazing about this video (thanks for posting BTW), is that all breaking bad characters are so different inside the show than they are outside of it. They all have their quirks on and off but I love how this video shows just how great and flexible and natural these guys are as actors. Shows just how great the casting crew and the rest of the crew is behind the scenes are. It ain't easy being TV's best without workin' your fingers bloody to achieve it.

I understand why the cousins left "heisenburgs" picture at the shrine. They were asking for the blessing of some death goddess in some weird mexican religious ritual.

But why were they and all those other people crawling up the road? That was seriously weird.

Perhaps it is a sign of humility, to humble oneself before the shrine, I don't know. It creeps me out though to think that all those people crawling up the road were actively seeking another persons death.

@malathis0 When I first watched this scene, I also assumed it was green screen, because so many TV shows use green screen for trivial moments. But as the scene continued, I noticed that the shot was quite long, longer than any other walking-away-from-explosion shot I can recall. The camera stays on the cousins for a long time, never cuts away, and you see the shadow work at play and the debris flying, and the flames rising, blocking out the sun. By the end of that shot, I knew it was real.

@yewsi You will be surprised how many Mexicans look. These guys aren't Mexican, but they do look the part. Go to Google images and search for Mexican model, you will be surprised. I am Mexican with brown hair and green eyes. When you go to a Mexican city like Aguascalientes, you will meet Mexican people of all different color hair-eyes-skin. It's different. People here in the US are really ignorant. Everyone I meet can't believe I am Mexican. lol
