most of the things at harbor freight work fine but some people dont know how to use them properly (like using a cheater bar) so they break but of course they have lifetime warranties on hand tools so thats fine
Tool Trucks are rip off artists. They get most of their tools from a warehouse and charge 4x the price and give you a weekly payment plan. I just go to HF and get it for 1/10 of the price. Works perfect. Sure it's ugly tool but it works. Most HF have lifetime warranty. I've had Snapon brand tools that broke.
Sure they are hard on HF employees but they have to be tough in this tough economy. No slacking off. I saw all these slackers at Sears watching TV instead of helping customers and cleaning.
Harbor Freight sells some good stuff at great prices, just go the the Harbor Freight website before you buy & check the customer ratings on the item you are looking to buy. If it has a good rating then it's safe to buy, if it has a bad rating then stay away. I have got some very good deals at HB!
And they're all going to break the very first time you use them, after they do an awful half-ass job. All the while the U.S. economy suffers that much more because you bought poorly made Chinese products.
@outraged70 ha. yeah maybe. or i got a junk one. But i also got it many years ago and that stuff has been really improved upon. I got a soldiering iron from them that melted the 4th time I used it, but I also have a torque wrench that is still dead on accurate. Good luck with that drill, I hope it keeps up for ya.
Also love Harbor Freight. With forethought (how tool will be used, will it likely hold up to that use, etc), one can easily find a great deal. Budget tools are often not the best for extreme use, but just fine for everyday moderate use.
My only complaint is the absence of a quicker shipping option. I'm overseas (military) and Parcel Post requires 5-6 weeks to arrive. Priority Mail averages 5-7 days, so I'd gladly pay the difference to get stuff quicker. Are you listening, Harbor Freight? ;)
fuck this place i got fired at store 21 N they dont even give raises. Fuck harbor freight in south sacramento employees talk a lot of shit. FUCK JEFF D FROM HARBOR FREIGHT AT STORE 21 SOUTH SAC ca THAT FAT FAGET BUT AN EXTRA 20 BUCKS IN MY DRAW SO I COULD GET FIRED FUCKEN FAT ASS. FUCK JEFF D he could suck n choke on a dick everybody hates his ass allan lee said so bitch. fuck the itc and the esp that shit aint even worth it............i didnt even get benefits from they ass
If you're a pro mechanic - buy snap-on. If you're a DIY guy or will only use the tool once or twice a year - go with harbor Freight. Also with simple things like wrenches, hammers, etc - no way you can beat Harbor Freights prices and selection. I love this store!!
as a pro tech id have to say that Snap-On is the most over hyped tool brand on the market, plus if you do break one they pretty much give you an CIA style interogation before they would replace it. Craftsman, Husky, and Kobalt hand tools are of good quality and if they break there is a ''No hassle" warrenty and a Sears, Home Depot or Lowes is always close by. Plus you have to wait for the Snap-On truck to even try to get a new one. And they all meet ANSI standards for professional tools!
naw. one must accept that harbor freights products are cheap and embrace it.
harbor freight offers cheap protection plans on the bulk of things that could break down such as power tools, air tools, hydraulic equipment and pumps. for a few dollars harbor freight will give you a brand new product no questions asked!
get the plan, dont say "im just gonna use it once"
plus all pittsburgh brand tools have a lifetime replacement guarantee. yay harbor freight!
I agree some tools from HFT are good some of then are bad, I bought a hammer rotation drill $ 69.00 vs $450.00 in Home Depot, it work perfect, one job paid for the tool and I been using that tool since then to made concrete holes or removed tiles, I also have a tile cuter machine $199.00 vs $1500.00 from Home Depot , I use that machine like twice a month and works perfect too, so, there is somethings not so good (of course) but I have to say that they are very good in price, selection and service
Warning two wheel trailer jack beefey one has serious deign flaw DANGER DANGER. 1500LB RATED JUST TOOK A DUMP AND SLAMMED MY BOAT DOWN. Four pins design sucks the big one. Law Suit TIME!
so they are great for people who dont use them much. I've filled my garage w/harbor freight tools. Only thing that I would replace would be the compound miter saw i got a 2-3 years ago (for about $50-60 after coupon) with a high end unit elsewhere, it's a bit wobbly so cuts arent super precise.
Every tool that i've ever bought from harbor freight has broken in a day of use. they sell trash! you wonder why the economy is so bad? its because we buy trash and send that bux we just forked out to china! Buy American and support your country!
yeah but where im from. snap-on doesn't stay for long in the back of your truck. I can't tell you how many people have stole entire boxes from trucks. then it's back to plan a again. I could see if you're a contractor/mechanic but for hobby use...why would you pay $500 vs $100 if you're just going to use it a couple times then put it in storage?
I like harbor freight for tools I don't use constantly. You don't need top of the line if you will use it maybe once a year. BTW they have decent drill presses and parts washers.
Some of the stuff is worth buy. Anything with a motor is junk

yeah lets all go there and continue to support china, forget about the need for american jobs

The last tool broke on me. Guess what? It was Made in U.S.A.
Oh, the IRONY!
Btw, everything is made in China at Home Depot and Kmart and most places.
So, you can't really avoid it.
A lot of Made in USA is crap. Don't forget that too.
But at least at Harbor Freight it is cheaper. And I got change! :)
Made in USA is a joke. I just donate to the local homeless. And cut out the middle man.
