  • the incredible is so much better than this shit. But your finger nails make you look sexy girl :) keep up the good work.

  • hate those nails. blegh

  • i just got this phone and it is so bad assssssssssss!!!!!!!!

  • Can you change up the keyboard like instead of having the full QWERTY keyboard?

I have the samsung omnia and it has different options between keyboards and i use the samsung keypad.

  • yes it has qwerty, t9 and compact qwerty

  • @xXMusicIsLifeXx123 The beauty of Android is that there are infinite possibilites. You can download different keyboards to the device.

  • @WirelessZone i am just getting this phone.... would i go to the market and download different keyboards or what should i search for? thanks!

  • @paintballkid5678 Yes, you can go to the market, search for Swype or keyboards. There are many in the markey in beta testing still so you might find one you like better.

  • Is it possible to text using the number format layout like when each number has three letters assigned to it??

  • @EdwardoisKing There is no T9 format

  • there is a t9 format. hit the settings button on the keyboard, then keyboard types and then select T9

  • @mrbear1302 you can download it from the market if you truly want it that bad.

  • i'm thinking either this phone or env touch. im a girl so i dont know which phone to get. any ideas?

  • is text messaging on the Droid ERIS in a threaded format? like on aim or on the blackjack II?

  • @aserenatas It is thread.

  • @mrbear1302 schweeet! thanks for the info. you know if the Motorola Backflip has threaded messaging?

  • It has a menu of text input options that come up. There is Prediction, spell correction on the full QWERTY. On the alphanumeric or compact QWERTY there is spell correction and word completion. Keep in mind, if you have all options checked it will slow the texting down slightly.

  • Can you send and recieve picture/video messages?

  • yes, but not at the highest resolution.

  • @TeeJay292 yea duh lol

  • just bought this phone. its pretty nicee!. i had the iphone but got tired of it. this phone in my opinion. it has unlimited customizing options and many free apps im sure in the future there will be many more. the only the iphone has on this phone is the crisp clear youtube playback. the youtube videos on this phone is also great. a step up from other smart phones.

  • you have prettty nails :]

  • Thank you jessyalien!

  • how come it takes 3 min and 7 sec to talk about what the video is titled, and you only talk about it for 1 min and 16 sec

  • This is running on android 1.5 with sense UI

  • is the $29.99 email and web enuff for uploading photos or should i get the unlimited data package?

  • I haven't have sufficient time to study the new plans but typically the $30 data package is unlimited.

  • The 29.99 is unlimited data, It is deffinately enough, the only difference between the 29.99 and the 44.99 is the 44.99 is only for corporate email, Everything else is the same.

  • isnt this a slide with a key pad?

  • no, the Eris is touchscreen only.

  • anybody kno wat mp?

  • @superpig090 - 5 megapixel, auto focus with no flash.

  • I LOVE the nails, PLEASE scratch my back.

  • how are we supposed to look at the phone if we're staring at your weird nails covering it like twigs?

  • so even if i have my plan with verizon i have to break the contract to get this phone to work? can anyone please reply?

  • This phone is on Verizon, why would you need to break your plan?

  • because wouldnt it still be different because of the internet on it?

  • Well yes and no. You're correct in that it is different but you should be able to modify your current plan. You are really just adding data to your plan. You can do that without breaking your contract. It wouldn't be any different that if you have an LG phone with just a regular voice plan and deciding you want to use the internet. They would just add data to your plan.

  • your fingernails are terribly distracting thought you might like to know

  • I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. If I don't cut them, everyone drones on about the nails. If I do cut them, I'll have tons of people commenting on that so I just leave them the same so as not to draw any added attention. Can't win at this point.

  • does anyone know if this phone is still crippled by verizons 60 characters?

  • Um....60? What the hell are you talking about?

  • is the screen glass like iphones?

  • is it like the itouch where it only responds if ur skin touches it?

  • @CheeseHead304 yup. its capacitive and all capacitive touch screens work like that. I find it to be much more responsive..

  • yes, capacitive touch screens rely on heat, unlike resistive touch screens that rely on pressure, which means that they are much more sensitive

  • Yes r1dePrkCty is absolutely correct.

  • yes, capacitive touch screens rely on heat, unlike resistive touch screens that rely on pressure, which means that they are much more sensitive

  • when i take picture and try to send it in a picture message, my eris tells me that he pictures i take with the phone are to big to be sent. Whats up with that? I'd really appreciate any helpful tips!

  • @alirag13 I dont have the phone that probably means the resolution is to high. Look in the camera settings and see if you can lower the resolution for picture messages.

  • in settings, you have to reduce quality to fine in 5mp. if there is too much sun or light the file size could slightly exceed the limit, which i believe is 1.1 megs.

you can upload and email in HQ but texting will not be allowed for pictures with such high res. the networks should up their limit 100kb for droids out now.

  • do you have to pay for internet on the droid eris?

  • yes, you have to get a data plan to activate this phone.

  • yeah

  • @polypeptide yes 30 a month

  • do you have to get a data plan or internet plan. Can you get the phone without the plan or does it not work

  • I think you need to get a data plan.

  • it take 1.5secs to make it turn on side of keyboard

  • It is anj early version of Android. The Moto is 2 versions newer...and faster.

  • ***RANDOM QUESTION***

If you have short nails, is it hard to touch the screen for everything? Just wanting to know because I have short nails and people are telling me that you can barely click things with a touch screen phone. Answer ASAP. Thanks(:

    ---Renee<3

  • wtf you talking about, of course, only ugly bitches have long nails

  • lol thts true

  • if i were u i would keep ur nails short so u can stay texting evenly and fast and not damaging ur screen with marks and scatchs

  • kk, thanks.

  • my screen has not sustained any marks or scratches from my nails.

  • If you have short nails you should have no problem. You need to touch the screen with your fingertip. The heat of your finger is what triggers a reaction.

  • can someone give me a good exlpanation on which phone to get...

i like the droid but this is also nice.. the keyboard isnt that important to me but idk what i should get... someone plz answer with some reasons too... thx

  • Here's the lowdown, thje Moto Droid has the slide-out keyboard, it has a navigation pad on the slide-out keyboard, It has audible turn by turn directions, It is faster because its the latest version of Android and thew camera has a flash. The Eris is $100 less, it actually more widgets than the Droid. So they are both awesome for their prices, you just havce to decide what features you like more!

  • thx for that but a week ago i got the moto droid and i love it anyway thank you for helping though

  • Can you txt with a standard keypad?

  • There is only a virtual keyboard on this phone.

  • Can you turn off the vibration feedback when using the QWERTY keyboards in messaging? I used one today but only for a little bit and i couldn't figure out how to turn it off...it was slowing down my typing.

  • yes, you can turn it off.

  • pause at 3:48 she has fake nails

  • Notice how she shows the soft keypad for texting, but she doesn't attempt to type anything..probably because those nails would not make it very easy.. lol

  • I prefer the touchscreen.

  • droid is better =]...the actual keayboard the droid has is def. a plus....but in the end i think all phones under ANDROID are cool =]

  • Yeah, the Droid is definitely a heftier work-horse of a phone. I'm personally considering the Eris though b/c it's such a great price and it's just plain sexy! And the flip-to-silence thing is just sweet.

  • I like the htc sense platform built over android and if this had a physical keyboard i would definitely consider it.
