  • Yes, all owls are curious. When I saw his first reaction to it I had to video it, but after that, owl and mop did not meet!

  • I didn't realize they were so curious-cute upsetting the knitting on himself. Enjoyable, but please, no more with the mop. He was angry and making that clacking noise because he was irritated.

  • Didn't anyone teach this owl that sitting this close to the TV can hurt your eyes?

  • @Blackhorn6

Don't worry, I only let him sit there for the video! He's a big grown-up owl now and has a good home in Scotland.

  • It sounds like you're talking dirty to the owl. He's cute though, so I'll let you off. ;)

Wonderful video - Alfred is quite the handsome looking owl.

  • thats cool but this little guy eats more then 3 kids with parents getting W.I.C . can you claim the owl as a dependent on your taxes .

  • thats cool but this little guy eats more then 3 kids with parents getting W.I.C .

  • The owl feels great, and lady pays a lot of attention. There is good connection, and pure unconditional love. I find nothing wrong with it. Surely a research about these birds must be done to make it easy for the bird and the lady.

  • at 3:32 I hope nobody's watching *Pounces basket*

  • What a great video...I enjoyed it so much. I hope you continue to rescue owls and send them to the protected sanctuary! It would be so hard to say good bye. I have parrots and the behaviour is so similar....they rule the house and couldnt imagine home without them.

  • What a beautiful creature. He's so very lucky to have someone like you with him.

  • 3:00 "What is this contraption with moving pictures!??!?!"

  • your so lucky that you got to take care of an owl chick!! XD i love owls!! =)

  • it would look so much better if you would not put the message just over his face and keep it there.

  • You teach Owl to watch TELEVISION!?!?!1!? baaad.

  • It's saying, "Feed Me!"

  • Do you have this owl because your rehabilitating it? He's a cutie :D

  • he's too close to the TV, it's bad for his eyes!

  • why cant people just let wild animals be wild?

  • love it!

  • I love owls they are soooooo cute

  • Malencool, it matters what country you live in. If you live in North America you can't never own one as a pet, but you can own one (just not as a pet). The three possible choices of getting one are: You work at wildlife rehab and you have to take one home (which I won't do if you want to own one). Or you using one for Education (which I won't do if you want one). Or you become a Falconer which you have to get a license and hunt with them (if you want one, you can keep one forever as a falconer).

  • people should never keep a wild owl cause than you ruin any chance for them to be released back to the wild but overall I agree with you :)

  • he is beautiful :)

  • awe! :3

your owl is so cute! :D

it's great owners like you that make me want to raise an owl myself!

  • your such a good owl mommy!

  • 0:25

  • i love owls they always look so pissed off haha so adorable =)

  • 4:07 WHAT!!

  • oh he acts like a catty

  • I'm soooo in love with Alfred! How adorable!

  • Aww, such a sweet owl! He looks very comfortable with you too! A lot argue that some animals just shouldn't be kept as pets, but I think most animals can be domesticated to a certain degree if just treated with respect and consideration of their natural needs. At least Alfred seems happy where he is! :) Hope he gets to get out and fly some once in a while though?

  • @butabara1234 Such a nice little hoot owl. I am so glad to see that people are treating these magnificent creatures with so much love that they have in fact become friendly with them.

  • @butabara1234 That is complete BS - domestication of an animal takes thousands of years - most wild animals that are brought into captivity do not get the enrichment and freedom they need to psychologically and physically be considered "healthy", and the people taking care of them also need to make more sacrifices than they would with a true domesticated species like dogs or cats. It is a lose lose situation. Leave wild animals in the wild or in the hands of a trained professional please.

  • @butabara1234 just not monkeys! they rip your balls off O_O

  • śliczne oczy ma ta sówka :))

  • i loooooveeeeee owls...nice video...

  • kocham sowy :)) o,o o,o

  • lovely owl

  • NUM NUM NUM NUM NUM :>>

  • Even owls watch Arsenal.

  • SonikkuForever is right. Best place for an owl is in the wild (unless they can't be released because of some injury, etc.).

  • Aww! It's so fluffy. Adorable little owl you have there.

  • 2:09 hehe what a cute little old lady and her owl

  • This is awesome dude! man can you teachem tricks?

  • oh the pooor owl. its so afraid

  • Hootie was an unreleasable horned owl that lived at the Trailside Zoo in NJ until September 1976, when the zoo closed and The Raptor Trust gave her a home. We think she was at least ten years old at that time. Since then, for 23 years, Hootie has been the foster mother for all the orphaned Great Horned Owl chicks that came to TRT. ( To read the whole story search google or any search engine. It is a sweet story! )

  • adorable owl! i hope he is well enough to go back to the wild. :)

  • how can you get ana owl? i've been sesarching, but can only find the ones that grow abour 12" and are not as exotic asa a great horned owl

  • Y'know, great horneds are about the most un-exotic thing ever. They're definitely beautiful, but they live EVERYWHERE!

  • If you want an owl, think about this: Are you willing to put up with the all-night noise? Their sharp beak and talons? What about their frequent, smelly poop? They also throw up pellets of fur and bones wherever they happen to be. As for food, you'll need lots of frozen mice, which you have to cut open to remove the stomach, intestines, and liver. If you don't, you'll find yourself peeling decomposing internal organs off the floor and walls of your home. Sounds like a great pet, doesn't it?

  • oh be quiet, just because it takes a lot of work to keep your pet happy and healthy doesn't mean it'd be a sucky pet!! i'd love to have an owl as a pet because they're cute, cuddly if you get them as a chick, and lovable! so don't go around blabbing off about how owls would make horrible pets!!

  • @SonikkuForever ... you are totally wrong. If you teach the owl to eat in the same place you don't have to peeling the internal organs around your house... The thing about the poop you're right, but keep in mind that every creature leave a stink smell behind :)... I pet an owl and sometimes it is like a baby kid :)

  • @SonikkuForever shut up u lazy coward. thats wat u have to deal with with any other pet!

  • @SonikkuForever good point but dont most falconers keep their owls in a mew?

  • @SonikkuForever I agree. But you gotta admit. Owls are pretty damn cute. Especially the young chicks like the one in the video.

  • @SonikkuForever

Believe it or not I've dealt with worse animals.

Still, not really willing to deal with something like that ever again.

  • @SonikkuForever

I have a question.. Why are they throwing up pellets? Why don't they just poop it out? O.o

  • @Bibushka66

Indigestibles, they regurgitate them. Probably because of the digestive tract not being able to cope with being blocked for a part.

  • @SonikkuForever YES :D

  • @SonikkuForever ....*looks down as you crush her hopes and dreams*... I bet Harry Potter never had to deal with that....

  • Lady, you and your owl are adorable! :)

  • This made me so happy. I love how interested he is in the soccer game.

  • Thats huge bird, and its was just a chick at the time, i can imagine now...

For some reason at the beggining of the video, reminded me of Happy Feet.

  • it reminded me of that too

  • 0:57 whats that thing? can i eat it? plz :) it looks crunchy lol

  • What a beautiful little owl!! I hope he's grown up to be strong and is living free. It's amazing how owls have such expressive eyes!

  • They don't have lips like we do, but they do have their body language and six eyelids to help (2 to blink down, 2 to blink up, and 2 nictitating membrances).

  • soo cute :o)

  • OH how adorable!!! Where did him?? I would like to have an owl to raise and love jsut like you and alfred do!

  • i dont think he should watch TV from this close, its bad for his eyes!

  • adorable. an adult one kept eating my freinds baby ducks and one day he found it attacking them so he attaked back with a flimsy peice of wood siding. The owl attacked back and almost maimed him. they are huge, especially the females and they have four inch talons that are so strong they could rend you if they wanted to. The wild female owl was over three feet tall and a formidable predator. dont mess around with them even though they are shy predators they will mess you up if they feel a threat

  • Mops, only rivaled by beavers as enemies of owls.

  • This owlet is cute, no doubt.

But I think owls (injured and found) should to leave free as they are able to come along in their landscape.

It is not right to domesticate Raptors.

I love owls, especially the little owl Athene noctua; Their behaviour is so curious; but we are not to see these creatures with human eyes.

  • I love the mop part, wow he was clacking his beak!! Saying NO NO. Too cute!

  • wow they do remind you of a cat in certon ways

  • Look like he's got a pretty good life.
