hi, i asked you some questions airbrushing earlier, but i've actually been watching your airbrush videos like all day so my questions got answered. i really appreciate your videos, they are really helping me out understaning airbrush tech...i have one request (so far hehe), could you do a video about how to do the roses like the ones you did in the black and grey video of the girl in hoodie with roses...
Thanks for the videos Ryan! I have started teaching my daughter to AB. She is 14 and when i am not working with her i let her watch videos and she has really enjoyed your videos! Great thing you are doing here! I have taken classes but i know some cannot afford them and videos like yours i know from some of the post, has taken away the frustration and brought the enjoyment back for a lot of people that were probably ready to give it up!
Hello Ryan, My name is Jason I have recently started airbrushing and I totally appreciate your advice and knowledge that you share with everyone. so thanks heaps for that. if you have time please check out my work i have it on 77eagleeyes. thanks for taking time out of your busy life to read this. cheers. ps keep up the good work. love it.
Hey Ryan this may be a stupid question but im looking into a few things and i was wondering if your airbrushing is the main source of income and if you make enough to live comfortably?
I'm from Malaysia, It's quite difficult for me to get airbrush supplies in this country and i'm toying around with Airbrushing as a hobby. I use alcohol 99% to clean my airbrush after i use alcohol based paints. Will it spoil the innards of the airbrush that way? Thanks
Its a regulator. I hardly use mine. I'll use it to pull off a few effects, but I mostly regulate my airbrush in the hose. It's just a habit thing I guess.
I had some questions regarding masking. How much masking is required: for example fully clothed person, space ship or a harley? Any subject that really requires crisp defined shapes and lines? I'm new to the airbrush, but have been a pro level artist for over ten years now and with a brush or pencil it's easy to define a shape? Is control or is it technique? And what about paint lifting and build up, currently using AutoAir, how often should I intercoat? Could be a good indepth vi
hi pal... my vega 2000 seems to have a problem... the air is constantly on... i think the air pressure plunger is stuck in.. any ideas how to release it??.. ive put it in boiling water...can you dismantle that bit from the bottom?
@growler1966 I had the same problem with a cheap Eastwood, I just used WD40 on the plunger and played with it til it came loose, then clean it like mad so you don't get the lube in your paint.
I have a question for you. I bought the eclipse bottom feed and noticed it was clogged somehow. I took it and nobody could ever tell me what was wrong. Did you ever run into that problem? The airbrush was seemingly clean as new. Infact the store actually gave me a 2nd brand new one which still had problems. You have any idea what it could be? I bought a top feed Iwata revolution, and its been perfect.
I have one of those airbrushes, how clogged is it?
Does the paint make it into the body of the airbrush?
I learned to airbrush using the eclipse BCS, and it was always interesting trying to ensure that my paint was thin enough and i had the right air pressure to pull the paint up. If the paint isn't making it into the body of the airbrush, check that. Ensure the tube in the bottle didn't get clogged and double check the nozzle
@charms555 Seemingly it isn't clogged at all. I open it up and the inside is as clean as can be. I have both a bottle that connects to it, or a cup I can interchange. The only thing I can possibly thing of is either somehow there was a defect when making it. Either that or there is too much air leaking out through the nozzle seals at the end.
hey man thanks for all the previous help but im looking to buy a bit of a better air compressor and ive seen that autozone sells one for like 40 bucks would that work for airbrushing ?
Air is air. It doesn't matter what machine makes it. The bigger the tank the longer it will hold pressure. You should just get whatever fits best in your area and makes the least amount of noise
i have a 21 gallon air compressor its pretty old and is missing stuff, its in bad shape . i connect my Paasche air brush with a hose, and i turn on the compressor by plugging it into the wall. i let the tank get filled up and start practicing from there. so i really don't have control of psi, or how much presser i get. and i think a regulator will help me. do you think getting one will me out. and if so which what one will me. ill try to do my research more from now on.
yea quick Q&A can you clear over the clay board and the answer is its called a "needle chuck" btw great advice i could give you a tip as far as putting the needle back in ... before sticking in the fluid tip place needle in through the front then place the fluid tip on the needle and pull the needle back do this in the upright position then screw your front pieces on no mushrooming trust me i hate buying new tips and needles lol keep up the great work!
ps i love your vids cause you give actual help instead of trying to sell all of the great tips on a DVD i got vids coming soon so check them out if ya can your "airhead" friend in Houston, TX-MXMS Kustom Shop
Thanx! Yeah sometimes when I get to talking I forget the names of things because I'm trying to think so much while filming, so thanx for the "needle chuck thing" I think the Iwata tech called it a pineapple or acorn nut one time. Anyway, I've cleared over the clay board several times before and never had a problem. I like to use a flat or satin clear for my clayboard art.
thanks for the vids just starting. did any 1 catch what he said about the "color theory" i for got what he called it and cant find it in the vid i think i want learn more about that but i dont know whats its called
Your vids are outstanding! You explain everything so clear! Keep the videos coming!! I've learned a lot by just watching and understanding your advise.
Ryan,
I have a question for you that may be wierd but i have to ask..can I use a ultra sonic cleaner to clean my iwata micron?

I don't know about alcohol. Never used it. Try ordering your paint online and use water based paints.

I wouldn't know because I use Iwata. I would look up the schematics on that brush and go from there. Could be an o ring or something.
