"In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. the song is extremely uplifting. their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock." patrick bateman
Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where, uh, Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe.
@corkman666 I'm pretty sure John Gacy failed multiple lives but whatever. Still that raises a further point. Why is someone naming themselves after the number of Satan calling someone naming themselves after a serial killer an asshole?
@mimefan because the original point he made was fucking retarded, and so what if i have 666 as part of my username, Satan doesn't exist, Gacy did, so it kinda make him worse and your weird tangent fucking stupid
@corkman666 How is his statement 'fucking retarded' I think, say, Twilight sucks, does that make me 'fucking retarded' all because one doesn't like a band, doesn't make them 'fucking retarded' I think a band once sang 'one man's joy makes another man weep, nothing you can do is never going to change it.' Oh, and Christianity (predominantly most of America and Gary Glitter) would like to disagree with your statement that 'Satan doesn't exist.'
me emociona volver a mis 18 años!!!
@chambersgirl92 Because you can use this as an excuse with your boyfriend: "You know I love you but I just can't take this (his weiner)"?? Thanks for sharing though.
i got a lot of respect for this mans music genesis are fantastic band had some g8 songs out now the music business is about the x factor and autotune. Forget justin bieber music fans phil is the real singer here.
The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it.
i love phil collins but im not kinda familiar on his former band , I only know Invisible touch on Genesis..
The Movie American Psycho brings me here to listen to this song. first time ive heard this song when Christian Bale Played this Song . after he played this song I stop watching movie and search what music is that i looked up into google and search then I Found its In Too Deep. Now its one of my Favorite Song.
@igotalovestoned the same was with me 3 months ago.i too knew only invisible touch...but now i like both of his works equally....the 2007 tour had a great setlist
Hey guys this is a great song, i was wondering if you guys could go to my page and listen to my new songs and tell me what you think! thanks Everyone its a new band named Communication Eruption!
In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your asshole. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. It was on Duke where, Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. Great song and my personal favorite. AP lol
@quillakiller Great songs, however in terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In that song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group.lol
@tylerdurden0005 Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consimante professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost.
@tylerdurden0005 Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that Tyler? It's hard to choose a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves.
@tylerdurden0005 Since, tyler, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.
@tylerdurden0005 He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
"...I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe..."
That´s the cover of No Jacket Required, a solo album by phil collins in ´84 or ´85 just before the extreme success of Invisible Touch in ´86 wich includes this song.
@Te4RHyP3 and another thing: just look at the nick of the person who uploaded the video! not only a classy name, but also a MUST the need of quoting lines from the movie lol!
@Te4RHyP3 lmao. thanks. "what I didnt understand was any of their previous work (on genesis). too artsy, too intellectual. it was on duke when phil collins' presence became more apparent. i think invisible touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. at the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. christy, take off your robe." yeah
really you have to be incredibly ill up in your head not to love prog rock genesis and to like much more their collins years. that makes sence why bateman was so fucked up. this is one of the symptoms !
i came to this video because of american psycho lol. i have to say though, im a big fan of prog rock, and, of course, A BIG FAN of the gabriel years of genesis. im one of those that say that phil collins threw away everything genesis had achieved until 1975. he's the one who gave a bad name to genesis. i hate it when people talk to me about genesis as 'oh yeah, that great pop band of the 80s! ' GOD!!!!!!!!! but damn i loved this movie so much LOL
I feel like I should get a deep lyrical analysis from this song, it's as though I should figure out what it's message is, but I'm not sure what it is. Either way, this is still a good song to listen to when a person is sitting on a park bench on a warm summer day and just thinking about their life.
