Another great and unique song, Mike!! I have never heard of breadfruit trees before. I enjoy reading the descriptions on your videos. They are always interesting and even educational. I enjoyed Kunkle's guitar near the end. I love the wailing sound only electric guitar can make. I know he played a beautiful acoustic guitar in one of your songs I listened few days ago. (Can't remember the title. 'Coming Monsoon' perhaps?)
I enjoyed it very much, my friend!! Thanks for sharing. ~~K
@kumhuimusicgirl My head is getting very big with all you compliments Kumhui; but, I am most appreciative. Thank you for recognizing Gene's great guitar work & noticing the description as well. On the demo version of "Breadfruit Tree," I offer a more comprehensive description. I guess you could say breadfruit trees were an early form of "corporate cost containment" providing a cheap, nutrient rich food source to raise humans for sale. That sounds kind of harsh, but that was the sad reality. Mike
@2IceCantata Yes that is me singing -- on this one, we used an old studio trick that Pink Floyd (I think) occasionally did back before digital stuff -- I sang the song 3 times -- each time slightly different -- then, we layered the vocals on top of one another at varying volume levels. I am working on setting up the CD for sale. Thanks so much for your nice comment ... Mike
@tuktukskagal Thanks Tuks -- when we did this one live, it often lasted 15-20 mintues of serious jam -- talented lead guitarist would simply "go off" -- execution wise, he can hang with the best ...

Your great voice and music does
not cover the meaning of this song.
