@Cutter1018 first thing he did put polish on the entire shoe. first he used a liquid polish, then a wax based one. what you're talking about is a mirror coat finish which only goes on the face of the shoe. Second for a par of shoes that get laced up like those do you do not polish the tongue. if you want to you use some thing like kiwi polish. because you can't get a horse hair brush into the corners to remove the excess polish. you apparently have never shined combat boots.

And I've been polishing my dress shoes for the past 8 years and I've *ALWAYS* polished the tongue, and I've always used a horse hair brush. I've never used clear coat on my black dress shoes, only leather conditioner and black kiwi polish or melatonian black cream polish. I've used clear wax once and it ruined the entire job which required me to start all over again after removing the polish, so I haven't used since

@darkness9994 well if you watch the vid again he does polish everything but the tongue. polishing the tongue on a pair of lace up dress shoes shouldn't be done with the horse hair brush cause you can't get the build up in the crevices. it should be done with a liquid polish like kiwi. Learn to polish combat boots and you're a master in 2 weeks. you have to get a mirror shine with just the wax polish, no overcoat. besides the fact dress shoes have a shine to them already.
