There were auditions to be one of the directors (there were three), and I even started to work with the others in planning some sequences, but I ended up as an assistant director; anyways I loved being with them, they were a pleasure to work with.

Mewes seems to be the only sensible/levelheaded one of the three flying. As he says, they heard the last call for boarding several times and so what the hell do they expect when they appear ten-something-minutes later? A third-party concierge service with no ties to Virgin was telling you it was going to be fine and then when this proves untrue you come back and try to hold Virgin to what this foreign service told you, like it was their promise.
