that doesnt means that NASCAR and Indy are a Thrill to watch, they are boring too but at least yo can se guys Figthing for something on the track, and not just run arround and wait to their pit crew to be fast and gain a position... that its my opinion..
i cant understand how can someone says that F1 doesnt need more Overtakes, come on guys, in the 5 Shumacher Championships F1 SUCKED!!! it got a little better when Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel came to the series but still F1 races are BORING (except China 2011) i preffer watch guys figthing for the lead or or any place in the track than sit in my couch, watch 20 laps and get sleepy becase at lap 3 the leader its 20 seconds ahead of the 2 place, come one,
2. DW's use of the terms "show" and "art form" in the same argument show me he has no clue what he's talking about.
3. DW must hate WRC since that's pretty much about being "the fastest guy around a turn".
4. DW doesn't care about fuel loads or sector times. But had no problem screaming about the last lap Harvick pitted on or how much of a lead Kyle Busch has.
5. F1 races don't start with the words "boogity, boogity". 'Nuff said.
F1 is good you see there are some special races in a F1 seasons that what makes some race better its not possible to have every race 100 % exciting But that makes the other races better and more dramatical
This is not a relevant argument - it's apples and oranges. Formula 1 is a motorsport, and NASCAR is entertainment. Neither is inherently bad, but they have different audience demographics and therefore a different group of people to entertain differently. Both are relevant because both have huge fanbases.
very one sided interview. Dave Despain is kind of a Jerk here
I like how Waltrip doesn't think being a fast driver isn't as important as being an "indimidator"
BUT on a race track, you HAVE to be fast to even consider intimidating anyone
the ability to be the Fast is the absoulte most essential ingredient. There are plenty of Dr.s and Lawyers that are great intimidators but wouldn't get anywhere close to a great driver to even intimidate. rendering those great intimidators impotent.
I Know Peter, and he said he was SO Pissed at how this went down. SO One sided. DW's points were Awfful.

How ironic is it that Waltrip says a driver has to be able to pass a faster car. Wasn't aware there were faster cars in NASCAR

I wonder how Windsor feels now with the F1 cars having KERS and DRS to facilitate passing.

What I gather from this:

Racing is about winning...It always has been. Putting on a show is a bi-product.

Call it sporting relativism, I guess. :)
