This is probably what happened: the killer whale was swimming up to the bank to grab the leopard seal, but miscalculated its lunge, and ended up beached as it tried to grab the seal. The stranded orca was lying on its side, trying to get back into the water. The seal then saw its chance and attacked. Although only 1/10 the orca's size, the seal kills the whale by ripping open its soft underbelly, tearing out its guts, and burrowing into the belly to eat the whale inside out. Poor killer whale...

@im8teennow they were working as a pack, one distracted the seal to give the others a chance at eating....just turns out that it didn't work as expected. In a pack it's all about teamwork, that one died in order to feed the pack is the norm in teamwork. Most likely there are two pregnant females in that team that will lay about 8 pups apiece, growing their rank from 8 to 24.
