  • For me, if I take B-12 supplement; it works but I will break out for some reason. With my friends mom, she might have some kind of vitamin B-12 deficiency. For some reason, she lost her ability to walk and we suspect that it is because she has had a bad diet for a long time. Can vitamin B-12 deficiency cause someone to lose their ability to walk? We are trying to find out how to get my friends mom to be able to walk again.

  • @q7spiz I invite you to read my newsletter on B12. Yes one of hallmarks of B12 deficiency is neurological issues that can effect the enervation of the legs.

B12 - if it makes you break out could mean that the stomach is not making use of it due to low digestive acid and therefore no production of the Intrinsic factor which absorbs B12.

You might want to try a sub-lingual B12 which bypasses the stomach. You also might want to read up on our B12 Boost, see if that helps.

    Best, John

  • @johndouillard Thank you. I do notice the B-12 still taking effect with my brain. I just have a thing where if I eat certain things like crap food that is highly processed and/or synthesized, I will break out because my body is not going to hold in toxins. I figure that it might be a good idea to clean my blood or something. Other than my self, my friends mom really needs help. Her parents screwed her over and so did the hospital. They didn't give her a consistent B-12 regiment like they said.

  • At home, we use a 1,000 mcg tablet, under the tongue (sublingual). It dissolves very fast and is quite inexpensive.

There are many benefits to this great vite.

  • Thank you so much, this helped me and my family a lot.

  • Just got dx'd yesterday morning. May have MS along w/ it. Very worried :(

  • soo helpful. just got diagnosed with this yesterday.

  • ive started taking a good b-complex with plenty of b12.

i think ive been deficient for 20 years, with many symptoms!

  • I appreciate your video its really informative, thanks for posting!

I wondered if you could answer a question of mine...I got blood tests done and they tested for B12 because ive been tingliing/numb in parts of body/extreme fatigue, etc. and i just so happened to buy a B12 suppliment that day so my levels were very high but my red blood cells were enlarged which the Dr. thought could have been a symptom of a B12 deficiency. I am concerned about this causing MS what is the liklihood? thanks

  • Veg diets shouldn't be made an enemy. B12 is made in the intestines by bacteria; The problem- proven by science - is a "defect" not allowing B12 absorption.Theories involve the culprits: vinigar, garlic, and chlorine in tap water. And statistics show.... Meat-eaters get B12 deficiency more frequently.

  • B12, D, Iron, Iodine, Omega 3 are very common deficiency. Some people go vegetarian or vegan and then find out they have one of these therefore they think it's caused by ''lack of meat'' while they simply already were deficient or just hadn't a well balanced diet.

Also there's just more awareness of these issue in the vegetarian community, most meat-eater often have no clue about those issue. Everyone should make sure they have enough B12! Because like John said about 50% of people lack b12!

  • @VeganPua exactly!

  • @Gary1111001 exactly!

  • i was diagnosed with vitamin B12 deficency 12 months ago but was given folate acid ??

  • Don't buy Vitamin B12 that is synthetic, it's called cyanocobalamin

  • How well are vitamin supplements absorbed and utilised by the body?

  • lowering homosystene has been proven NOT to decrease heart dss or strokes. read the recent journals.

  • @NIGGAKILLAMF which articles are you thinking of? Which journals? it does depend on how you lower homocysteine - if the method is too robust then it will have side-effects. B12 lowers homocysteine through natural methods (it's the normal way that the body changes homocysteine into the products the body wants)

  • i recommend buying a B12-complex supplement containing both naturally occurring B12 forms methyl- and adenosylcobolamin. source naturals has a 5mg product of such a combo. also, it should be mentioned that B12 can NOT be overdosed, so don't be afraid experimenting with very large doses if you don't feel an effect. just take more and see what happens. if you don't feel anything with, say, 10mg sub-lingual for a few days, you are not deficient (anymore), and your "stores" are filled up.

  • I was recently diagnosed with a B12 deficiency.. most likely due to the acid neutralizers that I have been prescribed to take daily for the last 10 years. I found it very odd since I am only 33. This was a very eye opening article. Thank you for the very valuable information!

  • @apubabar, if you're taking acid neutralizers, that means your not eating right

  • The reason I began to get interested in the vegan diet is because it was hard for me to digest. So I stopped eating meat for a while and now I've been getting a lot of those symptoms, almost every symptom. Lately the cracks on my lips has been an issue and it wasn't an issue before so I've been wondering why and then I came along this which mentions everything I'm experiencing. I feel like I need to buy the Vitamin but I'm having hard time deciding which one.

  • make sure it's methylcobalamin.

  • @lizgermany Thanks, that helps.

  • Excellent!!! Interesting about digestion, I gave up eating meat 30 years ago mostly because of not being able to digestion meat. I still can't digest food, even vegatables so I will have my B12 tested. Thank you!
