  • @squirlybmx What I mean is the 4B11T motor in the Evo X's have no where near the distinct sound that came from the 4G63 in previous Evo's. Not saying it isnt fast and shit, just If I were to hear it I would assume it to be a ricer. 4G63's have a distinct sound to them, just like the 2JZ has

  • gotta say, that exhaust looks like garbage. sounds ok, but not as cool as a dual exhaust would be. plus, it looks like some autozone bs, it doesnt look professional or good. you would get flamed by other evo owners and enthuasiast because it looks like ricer boy stuff. why not stay dual exhaust? even for aftermarket products.

  • I dunno man... I have an Evo 8 with a full Buscher Racing exhaust and it sounds way different than this one does...But if you think they sound the same, well both the 4G63 and this one are 2.0 liter in-line 4 cylinder engines so it makes sense. Different block and head, but same layout...

  • you have a Full Racing Exhuast this is just a crossover to a single tip? without a tune as well.. no wonder why yours would sound better.

    plus who in the right mind would take away the dual exhuast from the new X what idiots.. it looks like a flamer with just that big canister in the rear

  • well the stock exaust is pretty restrictive, plus the ams single exaust saves 22 pounds over the dual exaust. so with the exaust he has on now, he gained 10-15 hp awhp and shaved weight. but i do agree i think a dual exaust looks better imo

  • Agreed. Weight savings plus hp gain... I had a RC51 sport-bike with dual exhaust. You could go to a Jardine single pipe set-up and gain hp as well as lose weight. But, I went dual. I guess if you're all about performance go for the single, but if you wanna look good too go for the dual. I think duals sound better as well. Great point about the weight savings though man! ;)

  • I love my IX because of the bumper + the single exhaust look, but this X needs a different bumper if people are going to use that single exhaust... It just looks too weird. Almost 100hp over stock. Wow.

  • Buscher Racing will be offering a 3" true dual ehaust set up which looks much better. I agree with you, I think single side pipe on that bumber looks unsymetrical. And yeah, Evo IX for the win. I have an Evo 8 with about 40K into it. ;)

  • yea? Buscher will be offering a "true dual exhaust" set up for the new evo???????? hard to see that happening, its a I4, no way u can make a true dual exhaust, with a f4 or v4 u could, need 2 banks of cyl.

  • Ok, to be more specific. It will be a 4 into 1 before the cat and then 1 into 2 after the cat. So I guess it's a 4 into 1 into 2. Kinda like a lot of 4 cylinder sport-bikes. But if you are speaking in terms of say a V-twin with 2 separate cyclinders, even those usually mix, so they are 2 into 1 into 2. Like Ducati, Aprilia, etc... But you are right, like on a Harley... I guess that would be a "true" dual exhaust. 2 cyclinders,2 pipes, no mix. So I can see where you are coming from dood. ;)

  • sounds very cosmetic, no reason any performance inline motor should have 2 exhaust tips out the back. whoever decided the new evo should have 2 tips needs to be removed from their position due to a bad case of ricer-a-philla...

  • when did i say, "4 inch fart can"????.... im talking about the exhaust system itself, not the muffler(s)....there is no performance reason an I4 exhaust system should have a split after all 4 merge, just to resplit so you can have pointless dual tips. btw, evo people usually do not just put a 4" muffler out the back....there is a difference between a 4" muffler and a 4" exhaust.....

"way to big for a lil four banger anyway" lol, all has to do with suporting mods. 4" would be a restrictive exhaust on the top end of a huge turbo 4cyl...
