But you've got to love these mountains. We were powerless for 2 days, Two years ago the roof blew off our bedroom at 11 at night. But after 37 years up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Deer, coyotes, quail and chipmunks wander right outside the window where I am writing this, and twice I have had the rare privilege of glimpsing a mountain lion. When I go, I hope someone will take my ashes to the end of the drive during a roaring storm, throw them up and say "There she goes!"

Last Tuesday we had our first big 12 hour+ power outage, but I didn't get stuck in the mud, I just had to get on the roof in the pouring rain to remove some broken branches that were blocking the gutters from draining properly.

Funny Funny and all the time using what you have learned will carry you farther in life.

it was funny because i had the same problem and wouldn't let the farmer help me. on flat land i used oak boards to distribute the wight better. took me only 30 mins to get out. farmer didn't think it was possible. I passed my test too,engineering 101. oak boards are for my kitchen cabinets.
