She got down on her knees in front of the priest and the nun and she quoted and the devils had to move because where the Spirit of God is the devil must flee. i watch this entire movie for that moment at 2:09 and that second when a shred of conscience passes over the nun's face. And at that moment i always feel so sorry for all of them.. and not just the girls but the whole fucked up system. Who in that asylum could really have changed anything?

She used to grab me by the arm or pull me by the ear if she "caught" me going to the toilet at night. I was aged 9. I am sure I remember being put in a black bin at the bottom of the stairs one night and left for what seemed hours. Also made to clean a toilet with my tooth brush. I have no idea what I did, probably talked after lights out.

Geraldine McEwan was amazing as sister Bridget in this movie. She gave an outstanding performance and showed how cruel nuns, supposed 'women of god' could be, especially in the 20th Century. Everytime I watch this I always wonder exactly what sister Bridget is supposed to be thinking at 02:25
@ThorneAstor What Margaret did there was actually pretty clever. It forced Sister Bridget to move aside after all, since a nun could hardly force a praying girl out of the way, especially not in the presence of someone like the archbishop.
