Motherboard : ASUS P5P43TD CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 VGA: Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT So 1x24-pin 1x4-pin 2x6-pin 6xSATA connectors I also have 1 CD-ROM, 2 HDD's(1 TB and 500 GB) and a floppy disk drive(for no obvious reason) so 4 molex conectors Now please check this "ATX 760W HEC Cougar A760" and this "ATX 700W HuntKey HK700-52PP" so they right now cost preaty much the same 760W has more then enought cables, is that alright?
basically i bought a new graphic card and a new power supply right, now the power supply meets the minimum for the card (card needs 550w mine is 650w) but the max load/charge for the power supply is 22A my card needs 38A which means while the card works its not doing as good as it could.
trying to find another psu so i can exchange it back but im having trouble finding a psu based on its max charge so yeah if anyone could help me out with finding a psu. cheers :)
@randomer1432 That card actually consumes no more than 250w when fully loaded (search google for benchmarks). You will be fine with a 600w psu. I reccomend corsair 600cx v2 (that's mine, and it does provide that wattage with a good securirty margin).
@randomer1432 I reccomend corsair CX600 V2, it's the one I'm using. Awesome psu with active pfc and 80%+ efficiency. Runs silently and cool. Make sure it's the V2.
Gee it would have been nice if you showed the various connections on the motherboard and where the smaller cables actually get plugged in. Most of them are simple I know but I don't see a four pin on my mobo. Does that mean it just doesn't need one? Is there anything aside from the obvious that I don't want to do when powering up a $1000 system? See to me you haven't actually installed anything. It's almost there but ... Oh and I figured out the screw holes on my own. Thanks though.

Hello I am trying to find out if this is applicable to me. I just got a new PSU for my HP a6203w Mid tower desktop. It is a Thermaltake TR2 430 Watt I think, and I got an ATI 5450 1gig video card. I have PCI Express x16 and a top mounted full size power supply, any advice from anyone?
@magicgreengold well for one, most psu's only mount one way, and secondly if you have it up it's pulling warm air from the case to cool the fan, but if you put it down it takes air from outside the case(through the filter) which is cooler air
just bougth psu and wonder how to install it. i mean on my computer my actual is on the top of the box and on every youtube video i see that people put it in the buttom.
@pajlos149 a cx400 can run ur system with 2 hd 6670 ! hd 6670 doesn't even use a 6pin pci-e connector , 400w is enough , but go for more if ur willing to upgrade ur pc later on
@PyroMania61 when your case has holes and space between the surface your case is on and the bottom of the case, the power supply actually takes air from the bottom, not interfering with the airflow inside the case itself. so basically : install it the other way around and your psu will always have fresh air, and wont interfere with anything in your case
Bro your an asshole.... people that come here to learn don't have a problem with screwing their PSU in...they have questions about all the cords and where they go.. sure you told us what each cord is and what it connects too..but I don't feel anymore confident after watching this..On to the next "how to install video"
Ok so after a opened my pc and closet it, it wouldn`t turn on (no light no noise, nothing) I took out my graphics card and changed it for a new but i soon realized the new was to demanding for my PSU (psu still working at this point) so i changed back to the old one and when i pushed the power button and then it happend..
Is it my motherboard or my PSU that is dead/wrong (please tell me its my PSU)
@laurens97 most fans run at 12volts and if you want to install it in your PSU you cant use the the 3 pin connectors you will have to use the 4 pin molex. Power isnt really an issue with fans its just that you will need a ton of molex connectors
does the input nd output matter when replacing the power supply? or can i just get one that fits the case , has the right number of pins for the Mother board ,and apropriete # of volts for the computer?
Will my 450 watt PSU run a gtx 550 ti that says it needs 400 watts... I think so but just want to make sure. Running a 6570 1gb now but I already have my 6 pin ready for the 550 ti
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP!!! I am a novice in computer building but I know the basics. My bros computer has worked for a while and it was just a power supply issue. I have the power supply and hooked up some of the connection including the main motherboard connection. My problem is the 4 pin connection in the motherboard. The computer will turn on when that is unplugged but wont turn on when it is. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong.
@TheYTChronicles hey dumbass this guy actually knows wtf hes talking about compared to the other vids where there installing it and dont explain you shit so stfu and enjoy the vid
I usually install bottom-mounted PSUs with the fan facing up. Don't really like the way the bottom grill sits in most cases; it's either offset, or too small (it kinda seems so in the vid too), and it probably hinders the fan.
If you have front and side vents that pull fresh air into the case, the PSU will be getting some of that without trouble, and you can mount it with the fan upwards.
even if the psu wants to suck air from the bottom is it alright to flip it and let it suck airfrom the top by flipping it over? itll still mount the same just curious if thats alright or not seems like it would get better airflow from top. just curous
Do you think that I can play todays games on max with Intel Core i7-2600, 12GB DDR3, 1TB HD, Radeon 6850 1GB, DVD±RW, Win7HP64. But i only have 500 watt. So should I change the psu then? Or do you think I can use that?
I have a Tiger Direct built machine with an ASUS M4A7BL-M motherboard and have to replace the power supply. The original was a Turbolink ATX-CW420W. The problem is that the 24 pin ATX connector of the new power supply is reluctant to go into the slot and I don't want to break the mobo. The connector is the correct one but it appears that the problem is due to manufacturing inaccuracies. It seems that I will have to take the mobo out and put it on a sheet of polystyrene for support. Ideas please
@dito1423 the pcu fan should be in any position, in different pcus. Well, if you try to insert the pcu and it doesn't fit.. Probably its the wrong way.
plz reply i am building a computer but don't what power supply to buy because i don't know what parts of the computer need the power supply and how do you know what is the power consumption for a computer part
Omai, I'm buying a new graphic card, case and powersupply. I'm WAY too afraid, to build this, but most of my friends don't know how to as well. I'm at a loss!
does it matter which way the fan of the psu is facing? in my case, i wanna get a cooler master which has a fan on top of it, and the location of the psu is on the top rather than on the bottom
doesn't matter what he said, it's normally at the top of the case (which it should be because even i know heat rises) then the fan should face inside the case not facing the top. a good way to tell is the type on the psu case should be the right way up, as if viewed looking inside of computer case. here's a man who is trying to make putting in a psu sound easy (and it is) and has caused more questions than he solved. flash put 1300 psu in a massive case not exactly standard is it.
i was just doing my first build ever, and then i got to my PSU and realized my PSU slot was at the bottom of the case, and there was a grill pointing towards the ground. I panicked and thought "OMG wont the psu blow hot air into the carpet until it catches fire?"
haha thanks for telling me that large fan is for SUCKING air. im such a noob.
So unless your going for something super crazy go for that 1350. If you going to something just short of fully loaded is there something like 900 or even 1000? I am very new to this
Hey if you could please help, ive never done pc gaming but im looking to get into it, and im trying to find a good computer that can handle call of duty, battlefield and those sorts of games, is this a good build for that?
some1 PLEASE awnser this question its bothering me for so damn long now and i cant find the awnser. as you can see at most psu's the ide hdd/dvd connector splits up so every cable of those has 2 or maybe even 3 connectors. my question: do u lose power if you use all those connectors on different devices???
hi im thinking of buying a low to medium end gaming pc so im upgrading of a Dell inspiron 580 MT it has a Ati radeon 5450 1Gb, 4GB ram and intel core i3 but it only has 300 watt PSU should i get a 650? Also they wont tell me the exact motherboard they only told me that it is a Intel motherboard how will i know what will work.( i dont think i will be able to build my own PC so thats why i went for a dell)
retardedly, my comp came with, 4gig ram 1tb hdd, dual-core 2.8ghz cpu, dvd/cd rom. and 250watt psu. so when i get a gfx card i needa upgrade the psu. :/
Omg I love this guy, he knows this shit like the back of his hand. He explains things and how to do things step by step with confidence and seems comfortable explaining this stuff, after watching this I felt like a pro.
@abensbutik yes u can, it will be fine. when installing a power supply, it doesnt matter if u do not use all of the watts/power that is provided on the psu
Nah, Yatzhe beats him. Though he does it in takes, so I don't know if thats cheating or not. (Yatzhe is the guy doing Zero punctuation over at the Escapist, just in case you did not know that)

123rapoo 8 months ago
does it really matter if the pcu fan in up or down?

Omai, I'm buying a new graphic card, case and powersupply. I'm WAY too afraid, to build this, but most of my friends don't know how to as well. I'm at a loss!
CaptainP00face 8 months ago
@CaptainP00face what graphics card are you getting? and how big is your PSU?
Latvietis96 8 months ago
Wait so if a graphics card requires like 500w PSU that is what it consumes or its already factored in with the computers requirements?

does it matter which way the fan of the psu is facing? in my case, i wanna get a cooler master which has a fan on top of it, and the location of the psu is on the top rather than on the bottom
japorms318 8 months ago
@japorms318
doesn't matter what he said, it's normally at the top of the case (which it should be because even i know heat rises) then the fan should face inside the case not facing the top. a good way to tell is the type on the psu case should be the right way up, as if viewed looking inside of computer case. here's a man who is trying to make putting in a psu sound easy (and it is) and has caused more questions than he solved. flash put 1300 psu in a massive case not exactly standard is it.
trueace50 8 months ago
i was just doing my first build ever, and then i got to my PSU and realized my PSU slot was at the bottom of the case, and there was a grill pointing towards the ground. I panicked and thought "OMG wont the psu blow hot air into the carpet until it catches fire?"
haha thanks for telling me that large fan is for SUCKING air. im such a noob.

I think the most tricky part is to determine which connector goes to the correct hardware without seeing this video

So unless your going for something super crazy go for that 1350. If you going to something just short of fully loaded is there something like 900 or even 1000? I am very new to this
