its weird.... i actually prefer the US version. Usually the UK versions of things are more realistic and grungey, at least i find. But in this version, everything seems far too polished.

@cupcakeninja6 Yes, don't forget that this is 1891 Germany, specifically in a very provincial town. Things like puberty, sex, how children are made, sexuality, and deep emotional feelings like love and sorrow were not discussed. Children were extremely sheltered, and were not told of the things that, to today's children, are basically second nature.

@cupcakeninja6 you have to keep in my mind the time period of the show. its set in Germany in the 1890s and in the beginning the girls are expressing their anger towards their mothers' refusal to explain how babies are made.
