Our Government was planned as a MAZE to begin with. That way we are running in a circle trying to figure out who to blame. All those Lawyers and Phd's in DC and noone could see this CRAP coming?? The unthinkable: stop encouraging investment in housing for profit. We must not return to the situation where property values, i.e. land values, are driven up artificially because of tax breaks for mortgage interest and property taxes in conjunction with low taxes on land values to begin with. All of these things result in making investment in housing more profitable than other kinds of investments encouraging speculation which drives up the cost of housing making it less not more affordable..

MOJOMAN: Thanks for the compliment. I think it truly amusing that Republicans complain about taxes but never say that taxation of community created land values is a economically sound and beneficial form of taxation. They are absolutely correct to say that taxes on labor and capital ought to be eliminated but they also mean that taxes on land values ought to be eliminated as well. They either do not understand their economics or they just love to get something for nothing by speculating in land.
