Prop 8's about denying gays rights. They still have a tremendous amount of rights. It's about protecting rights of those who don't want our children exposed to homosexual indoctrination in classrooms (it will happen), churches being sued because they "discriminate" against gays by not performing gay marriages or employers sued because they oppose homosexuality. Pro-gay rights groups have already proven their willingness to challenge any traditional views they oppose. Prop 8 passed deal with it.

Wrong again. The Constitution says no such thing. Not even close. There is a law however, that was passed in 1996, known as the Defense of Marriage Act. That law however is unconstitutional that same way Segregation was unconstitutional. Do you believe Americans are Separate but Equal?

If yes on 8 did not pass than the government infringes upon the church by putting penalties on pastors and parents. And please until it doesn't say In God We Trust and One Nation Under God than don't even try to say seperation of church and state.
civil unions actually do not carry all the same benefits of a marriage and i think only about 5 states total institute civil unions and domestic partnerships. also, those kinds of unions do not carry from state to state, which is a blatant disregard of the 'full faith and credit clause' in the constitution. the reason we put "in god we trust and one nation under god" was during the Cold War so that the world would differentiate between us and the "godless Soviets". besides, those phrases
also disregard the 1st amendment which was "separation of church and state". it is impossible to remove the phrase as the christian coalition has too much power and would prevent its removal. just because one case breaks a rule, doesnt mean you should just go around breaking it over and over again. that's why churches get tax exemptions, because the government can't interfere with religion outside of regulating safety, property rights, compliance, etc.
I can see you have an agenda underlying your advocacy of this proposition. Yet, you are entitled to your opinion and I respect that. I do not however agree with it, so I will leave it at that because I don't find arguing through Youtube comments productive. People like Ben Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson to name a few. also, "in god we trust" wasn't always on our money. and they put "under god" in the pledge of allegiance during the red scare in the 50's. Prop 8's about denying gays rights. They still have a tremendous amount of rights. It's about protecting rights of those who don't want our children exposed to homosexual indoctrination in classrooms (it will happen), churches being sued because they "discriminate" against gays by not performing gay marriages or employers sued because they oppose homosexuality. Pro-gay rights groups have already proven their willingness to challenge any traditional views they oppose. Prop 8 passed deal with it.

2008 is the 30-year anniversary of California defeating Proposition 6, the Briggs Amendment, which would have banned gays and lesbians from teaching in public schools. We were on the right side of history in 1978 and lets hope we are wise and fair enough to be there again this year. No on prop8.

At one point not too long ago, two men or two women getting "married" was an "odd hypothetical fantasy".
Those who of us know Adam and Eve did exist greatly outnumber those who choose to deny their existence. I have no problem with the deliberate unbelief of others. I have a problem when they go to court to force me to treat their beliefs and behavior as "normal" and to live accordingly.
There is a difference between a lifestyle choice and living a forced lifestyle. Get it?

by definition marriage is between a man and a woman. If you want to get married you can (to a woman because that's what it is) If you want something other than that call it what it is you can do that. Now if the laws don't give you equal rights under a civil union than go fight those laws and don't infringe on my constitituional rights, the governmant can't force me to accept marriage which is religioous to be something you homosexuals pervert.

I don't disagree with you, this is the best video I have seen on this topic so far. But with society failing, education failing, the economy failing, and foreign policy failing. I just think there are more important things to focus on and donate money to.

Hmm...While I think that's an excellent point, gay marriage is a pretty hectic topic. But society is only declining due to a dislike for education, and since the schools don't produce many successful students then the economy fails. Then society gets the bums rush and screws up education even more. It's a vicious circle. Life is strange.

Liked the vid overall, but didn't much like the atheist-bashing.
I'm queer AND an agnostic/atheist and both groups face oppression in this society so while I'm giving all the money I can to defeat prop 8 and phonebanking to encourage people in Cali to vote NO on it, I also have to point out that there are atheists like that guy in your neighborhood but most of us nonbelievers - you know, the ones that aren't "God fearing" - are moral upright regular old folks like everyone else.

I'm sorry you felt I was atheist bashing. To the contrary, I was making a point that if atheists can marry, then marriage rights shouldn't be based on religious beliefs. By pointing out that homosexuals can also be "God fearing", many of whom I know, I was also trying to show that just because someone is homosexual doesn't mean they can't be Christian.

My daughter is 4 she wants to marry her best friend and sees nothing wrong with the fact that she's a girl. I doubt she will though, she'll probably turn out straight because we'll allow her to be who she is.

So, if the amount of gays that have children is zero, why do you care if they get married or not? It doesn't change the net result. In fact, I'm willing to bet that gay people (as with any couple) that are in a committed marriage are more likely to want a child either by adoption, donor, or surrogate mother thereby perpetuating our species MORE effectively. If your argument against gay marriage is that it's not for the good of the species, I don't think that holds water.

Wrong again. The Constitution says no such thing. Not even close. There is a law however, that was passed in 1996, known as the Defense of Marriage Act. That law however is unconstitutional that same way Segregation was unconstitutional. Do you believe Americans are Separate but Equal?
Also, America was NOT founded on Christian morals. First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."

This is obviously left open for discussion but if you went back and asked thomas jefferson what he thought of some man on man action their would be something in their today about it. Divorce is allowed by God under certain circumstances. Banning divorce is not an answer but rather understanding what Marriage really is the way Christ intended it to be. And that is definitely not ADAM AND STEVE, but rather Adam and EVE.

Where in the Bible does it say that DIVORCE is allowed? Isn't marriage supposed to be "for better or worse"? First of all homosexual marriages end in 150 percent higher divorce rate than heterosexual marriages and that's over a decade of statistics. Also homosexual marriages have a higher incidence of abuse and domestic violance than heterosexual marriages. Get the facts straigt. civil unions actually do not carry all the same benefits of a marriage and i think only about 5 states total institute civil unions and domestic partnerships. also, those kinds of unions do not carry from state to state, which is a blatant disregard of the 'full faith and credit clause' in the constitution. the reason we put "in god we trust and one nation under god" was during the Cold War so that the world would differentiate between us and the "godless Soviets". besides, those phrases

also disregard the 1st amendment which was "separation of church and state". it is impossible to remove the phrase as the christian coalition has too much power and would prevent its removal. just because one case breaks a rule, doesnt mean you should just go around breaking it over and over again. that's why churches get tax exemptions, because the government can't interfere with religion outside of regulating safety, property rights, compliance, etc.
