let us imagine only that Lipatti would have lived 50 more years.... his importance would have been inimaginable.... 

his natural way of making music guided under the recommandations of Cortot are leaving us interpretations untouchable by any critics.

Today the ecole normale in paris is still guiding great musicians.

This pianist doesn't have too much emotion nor a sense of slavic aesthetics. His own style, while nice, doesn't sound like Chopin.

@freeqwerqwer Interesting perspective - everyone is entitled to their opinion; and it is interesting to note the universal praise Lipatti has been given as a Chopin interpreter by critics worldwide, and all the major pianists on the stage today.

Outstanding. Is there anyway I can get these recordings without going through YouTube compression?

@RabidCh This mastering has not been released. My colleague and I offered EMI a similar mastering in 2000 but they refused it, so we issued it ourselves on the archiphon label. I have only mastered the first movement in this quality but will do the rest and hope to have it released... Glad you have enjoyed it!

Amazing remastering work. This is what the commercial recording should have sounded like. Lipatti is my model pianist in this concerto.

@demosj Glad you like it - I was astonished at the sound I got out of it. I'll be doing another remastering on another source tape which might yield even better results...
