@fromstart2finish That's because they don't have "letters" as you would know them. Japanese is a syllabic language. For instance, instead of spelling "Taco" as t-a-c-o with individual letters, they would spell it with two syllables, as in ta-co. Or タコ in Japanese Katakana.

But to the point, they do have a vowel that's basically the letter "I". But it's pronounced /iː/. Like the English letter "E". So you would have after the vowel, "I" you would have "Ki, gi" etc.
