@mackmor I am almost certain this solo (3:04 on the record) was played by Duane. It's just him, I know it. And btw, while I know it's been documented and said many times that Duane wasn't on Keep On Growing, I could swear I hear some of his stuff among all that brilliant noise in the last third of the song. I believe he didn't play on the first three tracks, but I really can't shake off the feeling it's him when I hear some of that wailing! :D Peace!
From wikipedia: "...In a window of only four days, the five-piece Dominos recorded "Key to the Highway," "Have You Ever Loved a Woman," and "Why Does Love Got to be So Sad." When September came around, Duane briefly left the sessions for gigs with his own band. In the two days he was absent, the four-piece Dominos recorded "I Looked Away," "Bell Bottom Blues," and "Keep on Growing." Duane returned on the 3rd to record "I am Yours," "Anyday," and "It's Too Late."
I always thought it was Clapton, but the more you listen to it, it's got all the signature Duaner sounds, like reverse bends, Gibson, and the notes George Harrison refers to as "naughty."
I forgot to say - very well played indeed! For years in the 1980s, I was the only one around who liked EC. I used to rave about this album especially, yet the others were Goths or into House music!
I think actually only the first two tracks were without Brother Duane. Because it definitely sounds like him wailin' away on 'Keep On Growing,' but I've heard it both ways. And even though I LOVE Eric's playing, he's really at his best when another guitarist is there lightin' a fire under him to really get him goin'. Like he does on 'Keep On Growing.'
Yeah, the solo at 2:20 in Keep on Growing has all the signatures of Brownie (kind of rubbery) and Clapton''s playing, but by 4 minutes there's a milllion tracks of guitars...
This solo is Clapton starting at 3:04

Try slowing it way down with windows media or Transcribe or something that keeps pitch.

Duane Allman did NOT play on this track. Look at the listings, he plays on all: except the first three songs!

Quite right. I thought Anyday was in the 1st 3 tracks recorded whilst Duane was away. Doh!

Thanks. Yeah, a great album, one of my all-time faves. Has stood the test of time now for 38 years.

Awesome, dude! Anyday's one of my favorite D&TD songs.

Recommend you use a backing track instead of the whole song. I can't tell you from Duane! Sounds like you've got something, though; keep practicing.

Backing tracks sound tacky.
