Actually, the only people to NOT take Texas by force were the Americans (the first time) and the Confederacy. The Republic of Texas agreed to join the United States in 1845, and again agreed to join the Confederacy in 1861; America, by this argument, invalidated its claim on Texas through the Civil War. So really its only the Confederacy that has a legitimate, peaceful, diplomatic claim on Texas. This is why the whole thing is so funny: EVERYTHING was taken by force. GET. OVER. IT.
I'm Mexican and I feel that Texas was Mexican land but to be honest..it still kind of is. The culture of that area is largely Mexican based and an increasingly Mexican population. I see the cycle just all fine and dandy as it is.
@GermanConquistador08 It's true that there are several highly Mexican areas, but it is by no means monochromatic; central and west-central Texas is largely German/Irish, north-central Texas has a large Eastern European (mostly Czech and Polish) influence, Houston is dominated by Urban Black culture and East Texas has huge amounts of rural black culture. The south is really the only area dominated by Mexican culture.
Even if we did give it back to Mexico ... what the heck are they going to do with it? They can't govern the land they already have ... how are the residents of Texas supposed to rely on the Mexican government to perform the basic functions of government for them if they can't do it for the current Mexican states?
We defeated the Communists abroad, only to have the Communists in ethnic dress now. The La Raza ideology is only the bitter poison and gall of Communism given an ethnic candy coating.
A New Zealand version of this may shut up the Maoris trying to claim land from the current New Zealanders, that they originally stole from the Morie Ories, which did I mention were cannabilised and almost wiped out.

Wow I learned something today! All this time I thought it was the indigenous Indians, you know after the continental shifts occurred of course :)
highman5 2 months ago
@highman5 those "indigenous" peoples had to take the land by force from the animals and plants that lived there. GIVE TEXAS BACK TO THE BACTERIANS!!!

I was going to make an analogy that when China conquers the USA it will be Chinese not Amercain, but lets face it China will never "conquer" the US.
They'll just own it outright...

@FuriousFatMan That's true....you can also have a "Black Entertainment Channel" and "Ms. Black America" and "Black History Month".
Try to suggest the formation of a "White Entertainment Channel" and the minorities would scream "racist"!!
