@K15HAN123 From now on, yes. Ovi Maps will be free for Symbian devices (No word on Maemo/MeeGo devices yet, but it's assumed that they'll also be free.)
@UnleashTehNoob so ovi maps will be free, and no data charges? woo! lol but does anyone kno how to fix this, when i click on ovi maps on ma nokia, it says system error. :S. lol any1 kno how to fix it?
Don't get to excited. Try to use standalone navigation, like garmin for instance. You'll se that this navigation is far from being user friendly. It's functionality is very limited and destination coverage is very poor. Using it gives me a headache. I own nokia 5800 navigation edition. It may be ok to navigate trough your town, but planning longer routes will make you wanna throw your phone trough the window.
is this a new N97 mini firmware? Because mine N97 mini doesn't have a silver bar in menius, just an old user interface with black exit and options buttons..
I have a fully updated N97 (not the Mini) and when I try to download Maps 3.0 to my phone it tells me its not available for my device. Yet I was using the beta without an issue.
Seriously annoyed and not happy. A device less than a year old and Nokia don't even appear to support it anymore.
Patience: in the description you can read the source: ...Nokia N97 mini, 5800 XpressMusic, 5800 Navigation Edition, E52, E55, E72, 5230, 6710 Navigator, 6730 classic and X6. More handsets are expected to be added over the coming weeks (N97 coming very soon!)...
I have the e71 too so I can't wait until they release it :p

@Joghurt18

wat about for n900????
is there a free one for it??
DJDARKSTEPZ 1 year ago
@DJDARKSTEPZ
There's a free GPS program included with the N900 which generally gets the job done. Otherwise there's always alternatives like Mappero and Sygic.

@K15HAN123 noononono. What I meant was, they planned to make turn-by-turn directions pay-to-use. But now they won't.
But yeah, there will be no data charges if you use the Map Loader (google it), and if you turn off assisted gps (if avaliable on your phone).
Message me if you need help with the Map Loader.
