@thomasbcool: thanks a million x100000 for uploading this one!
I've tried to upload it myself..but it won't work (one year ago).... maybe I'll try again...there's always something, great old stuff that still need to be played, heard in this world filled with vanity and smooth rapBoringZZZZZZZzzzzz-stuff! BigKiss ♥♥♥
Ha ha! Yes, they're really into it; sometimes Dave would just have a guest that would bring the best out in the band, where they clearly just loved it.
(Wish Willie Nile's performance was posted on youtube...have it on a tape *somewhere*
I've watched this clip about a couple dozen times easily... :)
one of the greatest bands ever ... more than just underestimated !!!!....truely though not their best performance... and still, to all you soulless hosebags makin bad comments .... none of you even managed to compose or put out even just one minute of the quality my man steve has ... and if you would,ve you,d know how just how good his work was... so get back to the caves you crept out of and practice !! steves a genious
Cool romp, I looked around myself and thought it looked like a Rick on steroids. Haven't heard the brand Guild mentioned in a long time. They used to make the most full sounding acoustics in the business (IMHO).
This is a pretty good representation of the tune from the album. I say raw, you say sucked, obviously not one of our favorites audibly, but there was passion in the message. The Letterman band delivered too, they seemed to enjoy it as musicians. Can't fake that.
I've never heard Bob Zimmerman sound good on TV either.
Check out Steven's Rockplast stuff (maybe you have and are comparing, it's pretty good).
I play. I get getting caught in the moment. Feeding on the crowd or other bandmates. You just cannot go on tv like you are jamming in a basement with your buds after being in the E. St. Band. This might have been a climax for the band but was crap to whomever had to endure it. Cool, yes. Great, NO! It was bad.
I always thought this tune was a bit raw myself, especially if it's the first time you've heard it. But when you've probably got a short time to practice and go on live TV it's likely they chose this one for convenience. And it was the title tune on the album he was promoting. Los Deseparicidos, I am a Patriot, Under the gun, Undefeated, Out of the Darkness were killer tunes on that album.
I remember an interview where the guy asked Little Steven what happened to "Miami Steve"? Steve smiled and said he retired to a condo in Florida...funny guy

I LOVED this album. I wore out several needles playing this one in the mid 80's.

Is it just me, or does the world's most dangerous band enjoy doing this as much as you listening. I defer to their precision.

What the Hell guitar is that? It kinda looks Rickenbacker-ish, but then it's too radical and you know, not gentlemanly like most Rics. Anyone know?
