Awesome job on that druid circle. it has a nice natural feel to it. The recumbent circle and rock detail i think both work great. Those building molds are pretty sweet as well
Hey, I'm new to the wargaming community, and I was wondering what is the best way to make grass for my terrains? I bought some dioramma grass sheets from a craft store, but I was wondering if there was anything better and/or cheaper.
@flamableproductions Simplest effect is to apply pva glue (elmers or similar) to the surface and sprinkle with static grass. Grass doesn't stand up perfectly, but it can be very effective.
@ModelloursWorkshop *laugh* The camera doesn't mount tightly to my tripod and I spent 5 minutes trying to adjust it and prop it up to get it level. Then I sit and look in the screen trying to see if it looks level. :) I will work on it more for the next vid. Thanks for the feed back.
@ooftaZone Interesting ideas. My only hesitation is that the total for the entire setup would put it out of most gamers price range. But, saying that, I don't see why someone couldn't request this tower, with two regular 4" towers and walls to match. It would make a very nice set up all put together. :)
@adamhalcrow Took a look. Very interesting and useful for shooting photos of pieces. :) Its actually very close to how I already light my vids and photos. It doesn't help with the video color however, as its not the intensity of the light that is the issue. The camera color corrects depending on the dominant color in the image. As the dominant color moves towards white, the color moves towards yellow. This is why the color renders best in the busy varied backgrounds.
Hah I was painting some real rocks for my table and was asked "Why are you painting the rocks.. like rocks..." and my answer was "Real rocks don't look real on the table!"
And that tower looks amazing.... If only that stuff wasn't so much, if your store wasn't closed now i'd be missing some moneys haha
@Grifftrogg Hmm. A hatch might be nice. I have a master of the hatch I used on the arena still and could make a mold of it by itself to use on pieces such as this. Thanks for the idea.
That tower is simply stunning! The stone circle looks excellent as well. I have been thinking about adding photoshopped banners to my buildings just to add a splash of color. The other thing I am pondering...is using my dremel with a very tiny round bit (at low rpm) to add grout lines on the field stone bricks where they appear very straight once they are glued in place. What do you think? Good idea or baaad idea???
@MacAttack001 I like the idea of banners. :) I think that would add a lot of character. For the dremel idea, I think it will work with enough patience. ;) I would first try it on a small mock up before tackling a model to see how it goes. A lot will depend on the plaster you are using as they can vary quite a bit in hardness.
With slate like these a stone table in the middle would be cool and historically accurate(ish). It also gives heroes a cool higher position from where to fend of hordes of enemies.
Tough your explanation with solar positions etz does sound very good as well! In any case there are many many different sorts of stone circles, heck there are stone squares and grids as well. Of the 20 or so stone circles I have visited more then a few would fall in this category tough.
@sordorel I originally did think about a table in the middle. :) When I started looking around I didn't see any so I abandoned it. I could see modifying it fairly easily on request and would be a nice addition. Thanks for the feedback.
@carversoftball Not sure where you sent it. :) Didn't see it in my inbox, channel comments or email. *shrug* Dropped over to your channel and checked out your cemetery. Nice texture on the stone walls of the crypt! Like how your created your fence. I was dissappointed that there was no voice over on the video. Would like to hear your thoughts on design and materials. For instance, its a display piece or is it a gaming piece? :)

Design options. Open tops for the smaller towers.
Add-on: Matching walls.
Add-on: Single small towers.
The add-ons could allow customer to build and enclosed area. For story and/or campaign missions.

The tower is awesome, but could do with a hatch on the roof for troops to gain access.
