  • If I find your bag....I am keeping it and holding it for ransom.....come and get it =) That box is AWESOME!!!!!!

Oh my gosh....I havent seen those type of coin purses in soooo long.....I think my Mom had one!!! If you could see the change purse I use for work you would die LOL....it has sooo much pen ink on it from pens leaking in my apron!!!

  • @ArtsyMouse

Hi Dawn! I love my goodies!!!

  • @scrappingtodo

    TFW!

  • I LOVE the cookbook! When my grandma died i was able to get her copy. My fave section is how to build the perfect sandwich, which starts on page 133. It is fun to look through! Then again, i am a cookbook nut ;0)

    Enjoy your goodies!!! Hugs, Christy

  • @twinz4me2

    Hi Christy!

Ok I'm soooo not ever going to cut apart this book! I've gotten a few comments from people about how great the book is. I pinky promise to keep it intact! And I will check out page 133 for sure. TFW!

  • i just posted my first yt video, its a haul video too... got it all at a garage sale, but it is all like mostly unopened... still amazed at my deal for so much. should've bought it all! duh! ;) there were two more boxes of paper and another box of stickers, etc for only $40 more... not sure what I was thinking, except guilt. haha

  • @babyblueagle1

Great deals! I will check out your video. For adhering the paper inside my journal I used a glue stick, seemed to work the best. Glad to make you laugh about the chiclet! Mr. Willlllllson!! LOL. And yes! use your grandmothers seam binding....she would be glad you did! I got you sweet message, thank you so much! I'm happy to share and inspire you!

  • sooo cute. i have made those journals out of comp. books too, but didn't decorate anything inside... wish I would've. What did you use to adhere inside??? just snail or glue? your chicklet comment cracked me up!!! Love your finds... that bag is beautiful! And sooo love that seam binding... i have some that was my grandmothers, I have been hesitant to use it. but, i am gonna break it out, i know she would want me to. ;)

  • Hi Bean, Really cool stuff! Tim :0)

  • @TimCoffeyArt

Thanks Tim! I love estate sales (when I can make it to one, lol) and the Goodwill is great for finding treasures!

  • Hi Yolie! I love your bag and your typewriter!! I actually thought that pretty package from Pretty Tape was your junk journal LOL! Nice packaging :-) Your actual mini journal is adorable. I also admire your shopping ban and if you buy small things here and there it is nothing compared to the scope of buying when not on a shopping ban. So anyway, that's my take :-) TFS.....love the old measuring tapes!

    Brigitte xx

  • @shoeprincess1 Brigitte, I know for a fact her shopping ban lasted about 10 minutes :)

  • @roxyfur LOL! You are so funny! Well seriously, who can resist in our positions with all the scrappy goodness out there!? For me to declare such a thing is truly a joke :-) My wallet wishes is was not but hey, everything needs a home right?

  • $20? Are you kidding? What a great find. Love the mini journal. I want to make one of those mini ones to carry around to jot down play ideas. They always come to me while waiting in line and me with no paper. TFS. --Lela

  • Awesome goodies! I love the GoodWill as well...I just bought a mini sewing machine from there the other day. I was also just telling my husband that I wanted a type writer. I've never actually used one, but I love the look of the type so I'll be on the search for one :) Thanks for sharing that mini junk journal too...what a great idea!

    Hugs

    Heather

  • @GreenScrapinMachine

Ahhhh I fellow thrifter! I love it! You can find the coolest stuff there! You will find a typewriter sooner or later trust me, and when you do......you will love it! TFW Heather!

    Love,

    Yolie

  • Bean, LOVE your finds! I made a junk journal for a friend who left for a summer in Spain yesterday. It turned out amazing! I will upload some pictures for you. I was able to attach a piece of elastic using a thick sewing elastic and eyelets. My goal for the rest of the year is to stop buying as well. and if i must by something its going to be from a second hand store. I must start using my resources!

  • @artceecrose

We need to start a trend! At least for awhile....no buying! Just making stuff with our hoards of scrap stuff! I can't wait to see your journal! TFW!

  • So much scrappy/alterable goodness....thank you for sharing...I get excited for you just listening to you talk about all your goodies... :)

  • @Anette648

TFW! I tell ya' I hit pay dirt with my finds!

  • WOW!! Yolie, you always seem to find a GREAT DEAL!! =) THANKS for sharing and I look forward to what you will create with your purchases!! Have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)

  • @countrybutterflygirl

Thanks Larissa...for as many great deals I find there are a whole lot more of days that I come up with nothing! LOL But I persist and keep going back. You just never know what you're going to find!

  • Supporting Goodwill is "paying it forward". The black trim is so classic. Glassine envelopes are so versatile on projects. The junk mini is a good size for little leftovers. Thanks for sharing.

  • @iluvtojournal

I so agree on the paying it forward! Thrifting has become so popular these days and people don't realize how much it is actually helping others out. Thanks for watching!

  • YAY!! Glad you used that trim.....isn't it so yummy and it look FABULOUS on that bag - great find my friend. I have a HUGE Good Will half way between work and home....may have to detour one day :) I really LOVE that box you have on your desk - AWESOME!! I just LOVE your vids Miss Bean.......LOVE YA girlie!! Hugs, T

  • @TERIBERI2

Hi Teri! I just love, love, love that trim! Roxy is drooling over my bag, lol! I turned a 6.99 find into a million dollar bag! Yes, check out your Goodwill...sometimes you find great stuff! And my box...I love it!!! I was going to paint it but I think it looks ok like it is, I might add painted flowers onto the front but other than that it's a keeper!!!

    Love ya right back chickie!

  • YOU DIDN'T TELL ME THE TYPEWRITER WAS TORQOUISE!!! I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THAT TYPEWRITER FOR YEARS! HUBBY'S GOT A GOOD EYE! I love your new bag, very 70s, cute embellies. I will come down there and cut your arm off if you cut off that cookbook cover. OK, I won't, just send me that typewriter and you can have your way with the book.

  • @roxyfur

I'm laughing my butt off Rox....I just might have to make sure the typewriter is in every video just to torture you...bwahahahaha (I laugh like this as I'm rubbing my gnarly claws together) And I'd love to keep my limbs so I promise not to cut up the book!

  • @yoliebean you can show it all you want, just keep those gnarly claws off my keys :)

  • Don't you just love goodwill and estate sales! Awesome finds! Your projects turned out great!

  • @sudmorris

Oh yes Fred I do! I was about ready to pass out though while I was looking through everything....there was sooo much stuff in this little tiny bedroom and about 5 people looking through boxes. I was claustrophobic! But I figured the goodies I got were plenty for me.

  • I don't have any seam binding either. I just keep telling myself it's nothing special so I won't be tempted to buy it lol. :)

  • @LouisiLana

I'm with you on the seam binding. I had a little bit from a rak and it's super pretty but I didn't want to go crazy and buy a whole bunch. So now I'm happy with my stash that only costs me peanuts!

  • Awesome goodies!!! I also did a mini junk journal today, TeeHee.... Elastic too!

Thanks so much for sharing, I sure did gave fun with this project. My favorite part, was finishing it!! In one day, nonetheless. So excited and ready to do a full size one.

    Take care.

    ;0)

    Norma

  • @HolyScrap123

Hi Norma, Aren't the journals fun? I love how easy and quick they can come together! I want to add elastic on my next one. I love the idea of using up a whole bunch of stuff! TFW!

  • LOVE ALLL ALLLLLL YOUR FINDINGS!! i wish my goodwill had such good things!!

    thanks for sharing

    hugs,

    yeya

  • @yeya1978

    Hi Yeya,

Sometimes I get lucky at the GW and other times I strike out. I joke that for every good trip there are 5 bad ones! LOL It can be a little addicting though.....since they put stuff out every day I always think I'm missing out on something.

  • Hi again Yolanda...

WOW ~~ lots of goodies...enjoy everything...

Are you able to get ribbon for those typewriters...you would think they would be hard to get...

You are going to have soooooooooooo much fun creating with all this...

Enjoy and have a fun summer evening...

    Surie

  • @KINDERKRAFTS

    Hi Surie,

TFW! I found ribbon at Staples! I was super excited because I thought the same thing...where will I find ribbon? I came home from the thrift store and looked on ebay, I found the "brand" name ribbon for this model but then thought I'd take my chance at Staples and lo and behold there it was!!! I think I paid 5.99. I'm so happy! I've been typing the heck out of it! lol

    TFW!

  • Love the bag I want one :)

  • @ithinklikeacow

I got so lucky when I found that bag! I was with my friend and she sooo would have snagged it had I not saw it first! lol. I would have had to arm wrestle her for it!

  • Wow great deals at the estate sale! I am like you I am seam binding poor lol! Love the typewriters! What kills me is I had an awesome electric typewriter from when I went to college eons ago and I got rid of it a few years ago ugh lol. The cookbooks are very cool I have tons of the old cookbooks like that which I have collected over the years. They have such neat images in them. I love thrift shops and estate sales. Definitely was the deal of the day! TFS!

  • @canadianscrappergirl

Thanks Kathy! I love a thrifty deal! Aaarrgh I bet you could kick yourself for letting go of your typewriter! Who would have known that we'd be wanting to type on those things again huh? lol. I am also a collector of cookbooks but I havent gotten into collecting old ones, I just buy all the new that come out! I have decided not to cut this one up for the cover, so many people have commented that it's a good book to actually use! TFW!

  • Great haul! Now i don't feel so bad as I don't have any seam binding either. LOL

  • @pinkij

LOL, you weren't alone in you "no seam binding".....I liked it but didn't want to add more to my already overflowing stash of stuff! But this deal was to great to ever pass on and now I have a nice little collection for peanuts!

  • Hahaha, I had to laugh, Yoli, I still use that classic cookbook today. It was my mom's. I make the apple pie recipe on page 592. It is the best ever! Use with the premade pie pastry from the store, throw a couple of "dots" of butter inside the pie....before you bake it , brush the top of the pie with alittle milk and sugar...Try it, you'll LOVE it. You did good on all your goodies..have fun playing with them...take care...Laurie

  • @Imthebeachgirl

Hi Laurie, I am soooo making that pie! I'm going to keep the book intact and put it in my kitchen! I've had a few people tell me it's a great book! Thanks for the tip Laurie, I probably never would have thought to actually use it for it's intended purpose! I will now!
