Awww, Boo for colds:( Thats completely understandable! That kitty knew you needed some love:) I'm super glad that you made this video! I'm sure it will help others and I'm so happy that you are getting help for this as well:) <3! Seven pounds is a bunch! I had no idea all the things that can come with anxiety! That kitty is SO pretty! (sorry, I'm cat distracted). I'm so sorry that you are going through all this! I think about you ALL the time! The fact that you want those things for you is good
A lot of us totally relate to you Shannon. I'm a little different in the sense that I just started a good job, and have my great family, but I always think I'm going to lose my job, or when people talk to me I get anxiety about their thinking I'm awkward, or not socially perfect like them and it's never ending. Feeling constantly uneasy is very stressful, so that makes it hard for me to fully enjoy everything. We all have one thing in common, and it's the love/effort we put in to everything.

Man Shannon, this sounds just like me I can't believe it! I think what you said about you having a girl and not believing it is how I feel. For me, I don't think I ever imagined having a family, I don't ever remember thinking about having kids but once I had my family it was just so surreal. And I have people tell me how they're jealous of me because we have the 'rich man's family' a boy and a girl and husband, and it makes it hard on me, like I feel like...how or why do I deserve it all?
I hope you feel better soon!! You're very determined to be happy and working on it so you'll get there! It's great that you got help, that's a very brave thing to do. It's really hard when you're anxious/depressed. I've been anxious lately...something about my sons turning 1 and 3 in a month has got me all wound up I guess. I'm really glad you did this video, couldn't have watched it at a better time. Thinking of you!
I'm sorry that your having to experience this, but I'm so happy that your taking the steps to getting well. Maybe getting involved w/ a mom's group or maybe a hobby you enjoy to hopefully distract yourself. But, you should never feel guilt or shame if you choose to approach it w/ medications.
Thank you for this post and your honesty. I am so glad you've reached out and are gaining the extra support you need. I just want to say how darling it was to see your cat so intently focused on you when you cried, how sweet was that.
@Jlk6532 I actually just started it today but hopefully I will be back to work soon. I have already been off for 2 weeks. I'm so happy my work is so supportive!
I LOVE hearing this update. I am so glad you are feeling so much better and I hope it continues to get better! Now you just need to focus on making memories with your family. :o)
Wow..you are so amazing Shan! I really hate to see you cry! I am praying for you to feel good again! You are always in my thoughts...especially when "Dirt Road" comes on! xoxo!! Stay Strong...you will overcome this! Did you ever think about doing some type of schooling on the side or maybe join an arts/crafts club to keep your mind busy? I like what Carla does...a baking club.
@Kelleyatwork78 Thanks Kelley! I am trying SO hard to stay strong and I do keep telling myself I will overcome this! But it's nice to hear that from someone else! That is a GREAT idea about getting out and doing something to keep me busy. My counselor actually told me that I should find a hobby or something that makes me happy. I will have to look into some classes or groups!
Hun, you should read the book by Louise Hay "You can heal your life". Its an amazing book, life changing! It talks a lot of positive affirmations you can say to yourself everytime you feel anxious as well as changing neg thoughts to positive ones. It really is an amazing book. Im so sorry that you are going through this. I will be thinking about you and keeping you in my thoughts :)
OMG you sound like me! I thought I was crazy.. my husband says I need to see a psychiatrist as much as I panic and worry... I wake up nervous EVERYDAY.. sometimes I feel weak and shaky (like now). My biggest fear is death and disease. I think I have something new everyday. I need to make an appt with my Dr. asap. It's been this way for a few years but got ten times worse after having my son almost 12 months ago. Thanks for sharing!
@lsruffin Wow that sounds just like me!!!! I'm sorry you are going through this too but it's nice to know I'm not alone! for years my hubby has told me I need to seek help as in talk to a counselor or something but I was always like...no I'm not that bad (even though I was) I'm sad that it had to get way worse bad before I finally listened!
I can relate on so many levels! I too had PPD and have always had issues with anxiety. My anxiety reached and all time high with my depression, anxiety and PPD go hand in hand alot of the time :( Just know that you will get better, it takes time but is possible :) I was on my meds for a full year and can say that they were definitely needed. You are already on your way up! :)
